SUPPLEMENT
TO THE
NEW ZEALAND
GAZETTE
OF THURSDAY, APRIL 22, 1880.

WELLINGTON, TUESDAY, APRIL 27, 1880.

In the matter of an intended Bill to amend "The
New Zealand Bank Act, 1861," and to be intituled
"The New Zealand Bank Act 1861 Amendment
Act, 1880."

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bank of New
Zealand intends to present a petition to the
General Assembly of New Zealand, at its next
ensuing session, for leave to bring in a Bill to be
intituled "The New Zealand Bank Act 1861 Amend-
ment Act, 1880," for the following objects:β€”

To confirm and validate an alteration in the 59th
section of the deed of settlement of the said Bank,
made at a meeting of proprietors held on the 27th
October, 1865, to the following effect: "That the
said section 59 of the said deed of settlement should
be altered as follows: 'It shall be competent to the
Board of Directors to establish any branch bank or
banks at any place within New Zealand or elsewhere
in the British dominions, and such banking agency,
or agencies, or connections, as the Board of Directors
shall determine;" and to declare that such alteration
shall be deemed to have been duly and validly made
as from the making thereof, and to be authorized
and binding, and to have had, and to continue to
have, full force and effect.

To ratify and confirm every act, matter, or thing
made or done by the said Bank or the Board of
Directors thereof, in conformity with the provisions
of the said deed as so altered as aforesaid, and to
declare the same to have been and to be valid and
binding as though the said clause 59, as altered as
aforesaid, had been duly inserted in the said deed of
settlement at the making thereof.

To declare that "The New Zealand Bank Act,
1861," and the deed of settlement as so altered as
aforesaid, or purporting to have been so altered,
shall be held to have authorized, and to authorize,
every act, matter, or thing done, or to be done, in
pursuance thereof, and that "The New Zealand Bank
Act, 1861," and deed of settlement shall be taken to
have conferred, and to confer, on the Board of
Directors of the said Bank full authority to empower
any one or more of their own number, or any other
persons, either as a local Board of Directors or
otherwise, to carry on all or any part of the business
of banking of every or any description at any branch
bank heretofore or hereafter to be established in New
Zealand, or elsewhere in the British dominions.

And notice is hereby given that copies of the said
intended Bill will be deposited in the office of the
Examiner of Standing Orders on the twenty-eighth
day of May, 1880.

In the matter of an intended Bill to incorporate the
Members of the Wellington Racing Club, and to be
intituled "The Wellington Racing Club Act, 1880."

NOTICE is hereby given that the members of the
Wellington Racing Club intend to present a
petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand,
at its next ensuing session, for leave to introduce a
Bill to be intituled "The Wellington Racing Club
Act, 1880," to effect the following objects:β€”

  1. To repeal an Act of the Provincial Council of
    the Province of Wellington, Session IV., No. 7, in-
    tituled "An Act to provide for the Management of a
    Public Racecourse in the Hutt District," and an Act
    of the same Council, Session XIV., No. 1, intituled
    "The Hutt Park and Racecourse Act, 1866."

  2. To incorporate by the name of "The Wellington
    Racing Club" the members of an association known
    by that name, and to empower the proposed incor-
    porated association to make, revoke, and vary by-
    laws for the government thereof, and of the members,
    property, affairs, and concerns thereof; and to pro-
    vide who shall be the first committee of management
    of the proposed incorporated association.

  3. To vest in the proposed incorporated association
    the lands described in the Schedule hereto, and all
    other real and personal estate (if any) now vested in
    a certain body now called "The Hutt Park and Race-
