Season in which Native Game shall be killed, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by "The Protection of
Animals Act, 1873," and "The Abolition of Provinces
Act, 1875," I, Hercules George Robert Robinson, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the season in which the
native game specified in the Schedule hereto shall be
hunted, shot, taken, or killed in the Provincial Dis-
tricts of Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, Tara-
naki, Marlborough, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, and
Westland, excepting within the County of Grey,
shall be from the twenty-ninth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty, until the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty, both days inclusive.
SCHEDULE.
NATIVE GAME: Wild duck of any species, bittern,
pied stilt plover, wild geese, dotterell, native pigeon,
teal, black stilt plover, curlew, quail.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of March, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.

Proclaiming a Hundred in Otago under "The Land
Act, 1877."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section thirteen of Appendix H
of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that
ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 18, of February 26, 1880, at page 225, for "William Gilbert Mair, Esq., J.P.”
read "William Gilbert Mair, Esq., R.M."
it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to
time, by Proclamation published in the New Zealand
Gazette, to constitute into a hundred any portion of
the Crown lands not forming part of any hundred
previously proclaimed, notwithstanding that such
lands or any part thereof shall be comprised within
any pastoral lease or license heretofore or hereafter
to be granted by the Crown under any law regu-
lating the occupation or disposal of Crown lands, and
whether or not the same shall have been included
within the boundaries of any proclaimed gold field:
And whereas the Land Board of Otago have re-
mended that the land described in the Schedule
hereto should be proclaimed a hundred under the
provisions of the said Act:
And whereas it is expedient that effect should be
given to the said recommendation of the Land Board:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in me by the hereinbefore in part recited
Act, do hereby proclaim that the portion of the
waste lands particularly described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted
into a hundred, under and for the purposes of the
said Act; and that it shall be called or known by the
name set above the description of the said hundred
in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
HINDON HUNDRED.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by estimation 30,970 acres, more or less,
situate in the Mount Hyde District, being Run No.
75. Bounded towards the North by Deep Stream;
towards the East by the Taieri River; towards the
South-west and South by Lee Stream and Fortifica-
tion Creek, and a line bearing 136° 15′ 30″ from near
the source of said Fortification Creek till it meets a
line running due north, distant 4993 links west from
Trig. Station W, Mount Hyde District; thence by
said line due north to Deep Stream.
