of Negotiations for the Purchase of certain Native
Lands in the North Island.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of " The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Provin-
cial District of Hawke's Bay described in the Sche-
dule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said
Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay, containing by admeasurement 20 acres,
more or less, situate in the Clive Survey District,
and being a portion of the Waikahu Block. Bounded
towards the North-east by the main road from
Napier to Clive, 1271 links; towards the South-east
by the Ngaruroro River; towards the South-west by
other portions of the Waikahu Block, 1400 links;
and towards the North-west by a public road, 1493
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the
Survey Office, Napier. For a recreation-ground.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-sixth day of Febru-
ary, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty.

IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Govern-
ment Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," and
"The Government Native Land Purchases Act
Amendment Act, 1878," it is hereby notified that
Her Majesty the Queen, from this day forth, relin-
quishes the negotiations that have been entered into
by or on behalf of Her said Majesty for the purchase
or acquisition of the blocks of Native land in the
North Island, which are more particularly described
and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
MATAHIIA.

ALL that block or parcel of land in the Waiapu
District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, con-
taining by admeasurement 3,185 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded on the North by the Mangaohewa Stream;
thence on the East by the Mata River; thence on
the West by the Mata River and Aorangi Creek;
thence on the West by the Kurutuawhiti Creek and
Aorangi Block to the starting point.

AORANGI.

All that block or parcel of land in the Waiapu
District, in the Provincial District of Auckland, con-
taining by admeasurement 3,500 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded on the North by the Taitai Block and the
Mangaowha Stream; thence on the East by the
Matahiia Block and Kurutuawhiti Creek; thence on
the South by the Aorangi Stream, Motupotaka Creek,
Haowhenua Creek, and the Aorangi-wai Block;
thence on the West by surveyed lines from Puketoi
to the Mangapohua Creek; thence by surveyed lines
to Tutukaka and Tauwharekoao; thence by the Taitai
Block to the starting point.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twentieth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty.

Vaccination Station for Wairau District appointed.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Public Health Act, 1876," I, Hercules
George Robert Robinson, the Governor of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the place mentioned
in the second column of the Schedule hereto as and to be a place at which the Public Vaccinator
appointed for the district mentioned in the first column of the said Schedule shall attend for the
performance of vaccination, as required by the said Act; and I do hereby give notice that such
Public Vaccinator will attend at the place aforesaid, for the purpose of performing such vaccina-
tion, on the day and at the hour set forth in the third column of the said Schedule opposite
the name of such place; and further that, at such place as last aforesaid, the Public Vaccinator
will attend for the purpose of inspecting the progress of such vaccination in the persons so vaccinated on
the day and at the hour respectively set forth in the fourth column of the said Schedule opposite the
name of such place.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of February, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty.
