Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on
the twenty-second day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, pass a resolution recom-
mending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on de-
ferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority vested in me by the above-named
Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is set apart for
sale on deferred payments; and that Monday,
the eighth day of March, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, shall be the day on which
the said land shall be open for application at the
Land Office at Invercargill, in allotments as surveyed
and marked on the survey map in the office of the
Chief Surveyor.

And in pursuance of the fifth section of "The
Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby
fix the price at which the land so described shall be
sold to be the price set opposite each allotment in
the Schedule hereto.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fourth day of February, 1880.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the fourth section of "The
Lunatics Act, 1868" (hereinafter called "the
said Act"), it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor in Council from time to time to order
or direct that all or any of the powers, functions,
duties, and authorities vested in or required to be
performed by the Governor, or the Governor in
Council, or the Colonial Secretary, by the said Act,
within any province or other district of the colony,
shall be exercised or performed by the Superinten-
dent of any such province, or by any other person
the Governor may think fit, subject, however, to any
limitations or restrictions as he may think fit; and
thereupon such functions, powers, duties, and au-
thorities may, by such Superintendent or other per-
son, be exercised or performed within the province or
other district of the colony specified in such order;
and in like manner to alter or revoke any such
order:

And whereas by an Order in Council, bearing date
the twenty-ninth day of December, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine, the powers granted
to the Colonial Secretary under the seventy-fourth
and seventy-fifth sections of the said Act were dele-
gated to George Boutflower Davy, to be exercised by
him within the Wellington District:

And whereas it is expedient to revoke the delega-
tions of the powers granted to the said George Bout-
flower Davy under the said sections, and to delegate
the said powers in manner hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth, by this present order, revoke the afore-
