the easterly side of a public road at a distance of
832 links south-westerly from junction of Ashley-
Clinton and Ruataniwha Public Road with Block 218.
Bounded generally southerly and westerly by lines,
2328, 967, 398, 2931, 579, 1756, 910, 1083, 453, 1342,
1372, 1334, 227, and 1801 links respectively; thence
generally easterly and northerly by lines, 256, 370,
and 279 links respectively; thence generally westerly
and northerly by lines, 280, 215, 451, 255, 335, 287,
227, 140, 642, 89, 537, 373, and 1105 links respectively;
thence southerly by public road, 100 links; thence
generally easterly and southerly by lines, 967, 240-8,
629, 189, 704, 108, 129, 274, 300-5, 1886, 450, 300,
and 258 links respectively; thence generally southerly
and westerly by lines, 179, 309, 370, and 110 links
respectively; thence generally northerly and easterly
by lines, 2073, 306, 1340, 1380, 1290, 413, 1098, 926,

thence westerly by public road to commencing point,
100 links or thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing by
admeasurement 20 acres 2 roods 36.7 perches, more or
less, situated in the Survey District of Ruataniwha,
Provincial District of Hawke's Bay aforesaid, being
portion of Blocks 105, 196, and 274: Commencing
on the southerly side of public road at a distance of
2074 links; on the northerly side of the said public
road from the piece firstly described, and 219 links
across said road obliquely. Bounded generally
southerly and westerly by lines, 1998, 2007, 4596,
6262, 3424, 227, 323, 572, 391-3, 367, and 579 links
respectively; thence northerly by a line, 50 links;
thence south-westerly by Mangatewai River, 100
links; thence southerly by a line, 126 links; thence
generally easterly and northerly by lines, 722, 424,
420, 593, 234, 189, 3483, 6283, 4573, 2004, and 1808
links respectively; thence northerly by public road
to commencing point, 218 links or thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing by
admeasurement 15 acres 3 roods 11 perches, more or
or less, situate in the Survey Districts of Ruataniwha
and Takapau, Provincial District of Hawke's Bay
aforesaid, being portion of Blocks 59, 182, 192, and
60: Commencing on the south-westerly side of the
Mangatewai River, 431 liuks south-westerly from
the piece secondly described. Bounded generally
north-westerly by lines, 210, 4105, 441, and 326
links respectively; thence generally westerly by lines,
782-5, 2864, 2695, 717, 6084, 400, 201, 569, 264, and
80 links respectively; thence southerly by Makaretu
River, 100 links; thence generally easterly by lines,
20, 241, 611, 216, 349, 6079, 706, 2705, 2892, and 665
links respectively; thence generally south-easterly
by lines, 229, 443, 417, and 222 links respectively;
thence north-easterly by Mangatewai River aforesaid
to commencing point, 100 links or thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods, more or less, situate
in the Survey District of Takapau, Provincial
District of Hawke's Bay aforesaid, being portion of
Block 234: Commencing on the southerly side of
the Makaretu River, 1140 links southerly from the
piece thirdly described. Bounded westerly by lines,
332, 1012, and 1136 links respectively; thence
southerly by public road known as Great South
Road, 102 links; thence easterly by lines, 1152, 1015,
and 355 links respectively; thence northerly by
Makaretu River to commencing point, 100 links or
thereabouts.

Also all that piece or parcel of land, containing by
admeasurement 5 acres 2 roods 1Β½ perches, more or
less, situate in the Survey District of Takapau, Pro-
vincial District of Hawke's Bay aforesaid, being other
portion of Block 234. Commencing on the southerly
side of Great South Road, at the distance of 2919
and 1001 links respectively from the western side of
the piece fourthly described. Bounded south-westerly
by line, 5586 links; thence south-easterly by Sydney
Street, Takapau Township, 100 links; thence north-
easterly by line, 5434-6 links; thence north-westerly
151 links or thereabouts.

The above particulars being delineated on the map
attached to the memorial referred to.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony

under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of August, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred

Counties of Taranaki and Patea declared a disturbed
District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Colonial Forces Courts-
Martial Act, 1868," it is, among other things,
enacted that the Governor may from time to time
by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, appoint
and declare any portion of the colony defined in
such Proclamation to be a disturbed district within
the meaning of the said Act: And whereas it is
expedient that a portion of the colony should be
declared a disturbed district, as hereinafter set
forth:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
proclaim, appoint, and declare all that portion of the
colony which is comprised within the limits of the
Counties of Taranaki and Patea, as such counties are
described in the First Schedule to "The Counties Act,
1876," to be a disturbed district within the meaning
of "The Colonial Forces Courts-Martial Act, 1868."

guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
