Vesting a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of July, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved on the twenty-sixth day
of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine, for a ferry: And whereas, in the opinion of
the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in
the Southland County Council:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in the
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the twenty-second day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, the
said reserve shall become vested in the Chairman,
Councillors, and Inhabitants of the said county.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or
less, being Section numbered 1, Block III., Town of
Fortrose. Bounded towards the North-west by Firth
Street, 500 links; towards the North-east by Neva
Street, 42 links; towards the South-east by Lewis
Street, 500 links; and towards the South-west by
Moray Terrace, 200 links: as the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Inver-
cargill.

Survey Fees under "The Mines Act, 1877,"
Westland and Nelson Districts.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of July, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the fifty-first section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," it is, among other things,
enacted that the Governor shall have power from time
to time to make, alter, amend, and revoke rules and
regulations for the purpose of fixing the fees to be


SCHEDULE.

  1. There shall be paid for the survey of—
    Gold-mining leases, £5.
    Extended claims, £2 10s.
    Also travelling expenses on each application at the
    rate of 3s. per mile, one way, measured in a straight
    line on the map from the Warden's office in the dis-
    trict; and bush-cutting, 2s. 6d. per chain.
    For underground surveys, encroachments, water-
    races, or surveys directed by the Warden, to which the
    foregoing rates do not apply, there shall be charged—
    For surveyor's service, £1 10s. per day or frac-
    tion of a day.
    Labourer's service, each, 10s. per day or fraction
    of a day.
    Mileage, 3s. per mile, as above.
  2. The applicants for survey shall deposit with the
    Receiver of Gold Revenue of the district the estimated
    cost of the survey. In cases where a reliable estimate
    cannot be formed, then the deposit shall be—
    For mining leases, £10.
    For extended claims, £5.
    For encroachments and for underground sur-
    veys, £5.
    For water-races, exclusive of longitudinal and
    cross-sections, £10 per mile or fraction of a
    mile.
    For water-races, inclusive of longitudinal and
    cross-sections, £20 per mile or fraction of a
    mile.

Abolishing the Waipaoa Petty Sessions District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of July, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act, 1865,"
it is enacted that the Governor, from time to
time, by Order in Council, whereof notice shall be
published in the New Zealand Gazette, may constitute
and define districts within and for which Courts of
Petty Sessions respectively shall be held, and such
districts, or any of them, may from time to time in
manner aforesaid abolish, and the boundaries thereof
may define or alter:
And whereas by an Order in Council, bearing date
the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine, and published in the New
Zealand Gazette
of the thirtieth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, the District
