Appointing a Day for Election of Members for the
Brighton Subdivision, Seaside Road Board.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section ten of "The Otago Roads
Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance, 1874,"
it is enacted that, if from any cause whatever, the
persons entitled to vote at any election for any sub-
division of any district shall fail or neglect to hold an
election of members of the District Board of such
district on the day appointed by the said Ordinance
for that purpose, it shall be lawful for the Superin-
tendent, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to appoint
a day for the holding of such election, and an election
may be held upon the day so appointed, and the
election so held shall for all purposes whatsoever be
deemed to have been duly held on the day appointed
by the said Ordinance for holding the same: And
whereas the powers and authorities vested in the
Superintendent by the said section are, by "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," now vested in the
Governor: And whereas the persons entitled to
vote in the election of members for the Brighton
Subdivision of the Seaside Road District failed on
the day appointed by "The Otago Roads Ordinance,
1871," to hold an election:

Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robin-
son, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the said Ordinance and Act, do hereby
proclaim and appoint that an election shall be held
on the thirtieth day of July, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-nine, of a member of the Seaside
Road Board for the Brighton Subdivision of the
said Seaside Road District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency
Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-nine.

the Waipipi Highway District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the Provincial Council
of Auckland intituled "The Auckland Dog
Nuisance Act (Session I., No. 4), 1854," it is, among
other things, enacted that the said Act shall come
into operation in such districts as shall be proclaimed
by the Superintendent in the Auckland Provincial
Gazette to come within the operation of the said
Act:

And whereas the powers vested in the Superinten-
dent by the said Act are now, by "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," vested in the Governor: And

ERRATA. In the New Zealand Gazette No. 69, page 863, first column, thirty-seventh line from top, for "Auckland," read
"Wellington." In the New Zealand Gazette No. 76, page 976, under "Appointment of Volunteer Officers, No. 3 Company
Taranaki Rifle Volunteers," for "John Thomas Vaughan Kirby," read "John Thomas Vaughan Kirkby to be Captain."
