NOTICE is hereby given that the gold-mining
lease applied for by the under-mentioned
person, for the ground hereinafter described, has
been refused, and the ground is now open to persons
holding miners' rights or business licenses, as if a
lease of the said ground had not been applied for:—
Maurice Dore: Evening Star Company. 16 acres
2 roods 4 perches, east of and adjoining the Dolly
Varden Claim, Devil's Creek.

NOTICE is hereby given that the gold-mining
lease applied for by Thomas Collins and R. C.
Savage, for the ground hereinafter described, has been
refused, and, excepting the portion granted to the
Keep-it-Dark Company as a special claim, the ground
is now open to persons holding miners' rights or
business licenses, as if a lease of the said ground had
not been applied for, viz. :—
16½ acres; bounded North and East by Keep-it-
Dark Gold-Mining Company's ground; South by
the Inangahua River; West by unoccupied ground.
Name of Company: "The Gem Gold-Mining Com-
pany."

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicant specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence on or
before the 25th day of July, 1879.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: John Clymer. Style under which it is
intended to conduct the business: "Pioneer Gold-
Mining Company." 10 acres, in the Tuapeka Mining
District, Section 7, Block LIII., Tokomairiro.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this twenty-
sixth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

I, DAVID LEWIS, a Commissioner duly appointed
by virtue of the Ordinance No. 15, Session XI.,
of the Legislative Council of the Islands of New
Zealand, to hear and decide claims to land by persons
claiming title thereto, from, through, or under the
New Zealand Company, report that the claim of
Edwin Bannister, of Wellington, having been
referred to me for investigation, I do hereby decide
that the said Edwin Bannister will be entitled to
take delivery of a Crown grant, to be issued in the
name of William Bannister, senior, late of Wel-
lington, Settler, for two and a half acres of land,
part of Section No. 11, Hutt District. The legal
estate to be antevested therein as from the 22nd
August, 1844.
Dated at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of June,
1879.

of Pahautanui, Wellington District, claiming
as Heir-at-law of GEORGE BOON, late of Opuha, Shep-
herd, has applied to be registered as Proprietor of
1 acre of land, part of Rural Section No. 10484,
Timaru District, as comprised in certificate of title,
Vol. v., folio 176; and that he will be so registered,
unless caveat forbidding the same be lodged within
one month after the date of the Gazette containing
this notice.
