Notice of proposed Loan by Borough of South
Invercargill.

T HE following notice, received from the Borough
Council of South Invercargill, is published in
accordance with section 145 of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876."

(in the absence of the Colonial Secretary.)

NOTICE is hereby given that, on the ninth day of
December last, the Municipal Council of the Borough
of South Invercargill, by resolution, proposed to
borrow the sum of £1,500 by way of special loan, for
the purpose of drainage and the making of roads and
streets within the said borough.

That a poll of the ratepayers within the said
borough was taken on the fifth day of March last,
when forty-four (44) votes were recorded in favour
of the proposal and eighteen (18) votes against it.
The said resolution was therefore declared duly
carried.

Dated this seventh day of June, 1879.

T It is hereby notified that, in pursuance of the pro-
visions of "The Land-Tax Act, 1878" (section
32), the objections to the Valuation List, and claims
for exemption from land-tax, for the Borough of
Wellington, will be heard on Wednesday, the 9th day
of July, at 11 o'clock a.m., at the Resident Magis-
trate's Court, Wellington.
