OWHANGO.
All that parcel of land in the District of Wanganui,
in the Provincial District of Wellington, known by
the name of Owhango, containing by estimation
400,000 acres or thereabouts. Boundaries: Com-
mencing on the Kawautahi Boundary at Upokowera,
thence to Tutaepatua, thence to Oio, thence to Kai-
tieke, thence to Tutumaire, thence to Okete, thence
to Nga-mutu, thence to Te Kopana, thence to Ma-
gahohonu, thence to Makaretu, thence to Te
Rerenga, thence to Takutai, thence to the Whakapa-
paiti Stream to its junction with the Whakapapa
River, following that river and passing Mangahouhe,
Piopiotea, Mangapungapunga, Te Rurunga, Poupou-
tunoa, Te Kirikiri, Kaitoki, Tikapu, Ohinetonga,
Kopua, Owairua, Taharua, Takapuna, and Iringa-
kawa; thence following the Wanganui River and
passing Otamaruarangi, Otutaura, Ngararahuarau,
Kakohi, and Parapara; thence leaving the Wanganui
River and turning inland to Rangiatea; thence to
Waetea, thence to Pakihi-ite, thence to Te Puke,
thence to Tureanui, thence to Mihirangi, thence to
Te Papaka, thence to Maunganui, thence to Huru-
tahi, thence to Kaitaura, and thence to Upokowera,
the starting point. This block has not passed the
Native Land Court.
TE MATAI.
All that parcel of land at Mohaka, in the District
of Taupo, in the Provincial District of Wellington,
known by the name of Te Matai, containing by
estimation 5,000 acres or thereabouts. Bounded
towards the North by the Ripia River; towards the
East by the Pakaututu Block; towards the South by
the Mohaka River; and towards the West by the
Wharetoto Block. This block has not passed the
Native Land Court.
OUMUPAPAMARO.
All that parcel of land at Runanga, in the Dis-
trict of Taupo, in the Provincial District of Wel-
ington, known by the name of Oumupapamaro,
containing by estimation 10,000 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded towards the North by Runanga No. 2
Block; towards the East by the western boundary
of the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay; towards
the South by the Ripia River; and towards the
West by the Wharetoto Block. This block has not
passed the Native Land Court.
WHARETATAA.
All that parcel of land situated at Rotoiti, in the
County of Tauranga, in the Provincial District of
Auckland, known by the name of Wharetataa, con-
taining by estimation 2,200 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded on the North by the Rotoiti Lake; on the
East by a line, about 80 chains; on the South by a
line, about 200 chains; on the West by a line from
Whakapoungakau to Rotoiti Lake, bearing 158° 43’
59”, about 90 chains, and also including Tumoana
Point. This block has not passed the Native Land
Court.
TE POKURU.
All that parcel of land in the District of Taupo,
in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by
the name of Te Pokuru, containing by estimation
1,000 acres or thereabouts. Bounded on the West
by Te Hukui Block; on the North by Native land;
on the East by Te Hangihangi; and on the South by
the Oruanui Block. This block has not passed the
Native Land Court.
TE HANGIHANGI.
All that parcel of land in the Waikari Forest, in
the District of Taupo, in the Provincial District of
Auckland, known by the name of Te Hangihangi,
containing by estimation 1,000 acres or thereabouts.
Bounded on the North by Native land; on the East
by Native land; on the South by the Oruanui Block;
and on the West by Te Pokuru Block. This block
has not passed the Native Land Court.

Warrant giving the Rakaia and Ashburton Forks
Railway Company Permission to construct the Rail-
way through a Public Reserve.
HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.
WHEREAS the Rakaia and Ashburton Forks
Railway Company (Limited) is a company
under and within the meaning of “The District
Railways Act, 1877,” formed for, amongst other pur-
poses, the purpose of constructing a railway under
the said Act in the Provincial District of Canterbury:
And whereas the said Company, with a view to
obtain the Governor’s approval of the construction
of the said railway, deposited at the Public Works
Office, Wellington, a plan showing, as prescribed by
the said Act, the middle line and direction of the
said railway, and the limits of deviation in respect
thereof: And whereas the Governor approved of
the construction of the said railway, and notice of
such approval was gazetted in the New Zealand
Gazette of the seventeenth day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight: And
whereas the Governor is desirous of exercising, on
behalf of the said Company, the powers and authori-
ties conferred on him by the thirty-third section of
the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, do, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred as aforesaid, hereby permit
such part or parts of the said railway as may inter-
sect the public reserve vested in Her Majesty the
Queen, described in the Schedule hereto, to be con-
structed on or through such public reserve.

(in red) on the official map in the Provincial District
Survey Office, Christchurch.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly
intituled “The Crown Grants Act, 1866,” it
is enacted that, whenever roads or rights of roads
have been or hereafter may be reserved in any Crown
grants, but such roads or the particular part or por-
tions of the land comprised in the grant over which
the road is to be or may be taken have not been or
may not be specifically described in the body of the
grant and laid down from survey on the plan in the
margin thereof, or indorsed thereon or attached
thereto, such Crown grants, if otherwise duly and
