THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

And whereas Mata Hihina and Mata Tiria are the
children of the said Rio, and are infants under
the age of twenty-one years, and it is expedient that
Charles Brown, Esquire, Civil Commissioner, and
Ripeka Rangitakia be appointed trustees under the
said Act, on behalf of the said Mata Hihina and
Mata Tiria :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the colony, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the said Act, doth hereby order that the interests
and shares of the said Mata Hihina and Mata Tiria
in the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
and remain vested in

CHARLES BROWN, Esquire, Civil Commissioner,
and
RIPEKA RANGITAKIA,

as Trustees, within the meaning and for the purposes
of the said Act, for the said Mata Hihina and Mata
Tiria during their minority.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement four hun-
dred (400) acres, more or less, and being Section
numbered 396 on the plan of the Okotuku Block.
Bounded towards the North by Section numbered
395; towards the East by Section numbered 390 on
the same plan; towards the South by a public road;
and towards the West by Section numbered 398 on
the same plan.

Regulation prescribing Fee for Higher Education, Carlyle.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirteenth day of May, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by "The Education Act, 1877," I, Sir
Hercules George Robert Robinson, Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
do hereby make the following regulation prescribing
the fee to be paid by pupils for receiving instruction
in higher education at the district high school here-
inafter mentioned, that is to say,β€”

  1. In the district high school at Carlyle, the fee for
    higher education within the meaning of section 56 of
    "The Education Act, 1877," shall be fifteen shillings
    a quarter for one subject or for any number of sub-
    jects.

  2. This regulation shall come into force upon the
    date hereof.

Vesting a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirteenth day of May, 1879.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto was granted to the
Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, on the

ninth day of February, one thousand eight hundred
and fifty-six, as a site for cattle, meat, fish, and other
markets :

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the portion of the said land as de-
scribed in the second column of the said Schedule
hereto, in the Municipal Corporation of the Town of
Nelson :

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in the
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the thirteenth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, the portion
of the said reserve hereinbefore named shall become
vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of
the Borough of Nelson, for the purposes of a market.

First Column. Second Column.
All that area of land known as Reserve M, con- taining three (3) acres, and situ- ate in the Town of Nelson. All that area containing by admeasure- ment one (1) rood and thirty-three (33) poles, situate in the Town of Nelson. Bounded towards the North by Bridge Street, one hundred and seventy-one and a half (171\u00bc) links; towards the East by Tas- man Street, two hundred and sixty-eight (268) links; towards the South by a reserve, one hundred and seventy-one and a half (171\u00bc) links; and towards the West by the said reserve, two hundred and sixty-eight (268) links; as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Survey Office, Nelson.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls, County of Waimea.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirteenth day of May, 1879.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is expedient to extend the times
allowed by the forty-second, forty-sixth, forty-
seventh, forty-eighth, and forty-ninth sections of
"The Counties Act, 1876," for the doing of the acts,
matters, and things required by the said sections for
the preparation of rolls for the ridings of the County
of Waimea :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, and in pur-
suance of the power and authority vested in him by
the second section of "The Temporary Powers Act,
1878," and of every other power and authority him
enabling thereunto, doth by this regulation ex-
tend the time for preparing the roll of each riding in
the said County of Waimea, in accordance with the
forty-second section of the said Act, to the sixteenth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine; and doth hereby declare that the time during
which the copies of the rolls shall be kept open for
public inspection, as mentioned in the forty-sixth
section of the said Act, shall be extended so that
such rolls shall be open for public inspection at all
