IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining lease in the Otago
Gold Fields cancelled, and that the ground is now
open for application as if no lease of the said ground
had ever been applied for :—
Charles Schusledt; Section 24, Block XI, Shot-
over, Arrow Mining District. No. 539c.

to be Deputy Land-Tax Commissioner for the Wel-
lington District, as from the 1st instant.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Ross on or before
the 26th day of May, 1879.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Ross.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANTS: James Lougton and Ernest Theodore
Horn. Style under which it is intended to conduct
the business: "Lougton and Horn's Gold-Mining
Lease." 6 acres, in the Westland Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this
thirtieth day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine.
