Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighth day of April, 1879.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREEAS the land mentioned in the first
column of the Schedule hereto is a portion of
a reserve for a cemetery for the City of Dunedin:
And whereas the said reserve is for one of the pur-
poses named in Part I. of the Schedule to "The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," and, in
the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to
change the purpose of the portion of such reserve
referred to in the Schedule hereto to one of the
purposes named in Part III., as hereinafter men-
tioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the sixth section of "The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby
order and direct that the purpose of the portion of
the reserve mentioned in the first column of the
Schedule hereto shall be changed from that of a
reserve for a cemetery, and doth hereby declare and
define the purpose of the said portion of such reserve
to be that specified in the second column of the said
Schedule, the same being one of the purposes named
in Part III. of the Schedule to the said Act.

towards the North-east by a right line,
bearing 111° 43′ 42″, six hundred and
seven (607) links; towards the South-east
by Arthur Street, sixteen (16) links; to-
wards the South-west by the land described
in "The Dunedin School Reserves Act,
1877," six hundred and seven (607) links;
and towards the North-west by a line bear-
ing 201° 43′ 42″, sixteen (16) links: as the
same is delineated on the plan deposited in
the Survey Office, Dunedin. | As a site for

of Nelson.

WHERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.

HEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Provin-
cial District of Nelson described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purpose in the said
Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land at Addison's Flat,
Survey District of Waitakerei, Provincial District of
Nelson, containing by admeasurement two (2) acres,
more or less. Bounded on the North-west by the
public road leading from Westport to Charleston,
450 links; and on the North-east, South-east, and
South-west by Crown lands, respectively 444.5 links,
450 links, and 444.5 links. As a school site.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this first day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine.

Amended Regulations relative to Importation of Stock
into New South Wales.

New South Wales, enclosing amended regula-
tion relative to the importation of stock into New
South Wales, is published for general information.

SIR,-With reference to my predecessor's letter of
the 11th of July, 1878, I have now the honor to for-
ward to you, for the information of your Govern-
ment, a copy of amended regulations published in
the New South Wales Government Gazette of the
28th of last month, with regard to the importation of
stock into this colony.

IMPORTED STOCK ACT OF 1871.

THE following regulations to amend regulations
previously issued under the above-named Act are
hereby published for general information, viz. :-

SHIP'S STOCK.

  1. The provisions of the regulations of 3rd July
    last (1878), which requires that ship's stock arriving
    in any port in this colony by a vessel from any colony
    or country other than the Colonies of Australia or
    New Zealand, shall be sent to and remain in quaran-
    tine while such vessel is in port, shall not hereafter
