Declaring Land open for Sale within the Orepuki
Gold Field.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fifty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor, by Proclamation, may from time
to time declare any Crown lands within any mining
district, not held under license or lease at the date of
such Proclamation, or over which the license or lease
has been cancelled, to be open for sale or selection,
in sections of such size and form, and on such date,
as he may determine ; and any lands so proclaimed
may hereafter be sold at a like price, and subject to
the like terms and conditions, or as near thereto as
may be, as Crown lands of the same class not within
a mining district: And the Governor may from
time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land
specified in the Schedule hereto shall be open for
sale, and that the eighteenth day of February next
ensuing shall be the day on which the said land shall
be open for sale.

Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and autho-
rities enabling me in that behalf, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that, by Order in Council mado
under the provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act,
1873," of even date herewith, I have appointed
Wednesday, the twenty-second day of January
instant, to be observed throughout the Provincial
District of Wellington, as a bank holiday under and
for the purposes of the above-mentioned Act.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
