Declaring Land open for Sale within Mining
District of Longwood.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and fifty-fourth
section of "The Land Act 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor, by Proclamation, may from time
to time declare any Crown lands within any mining
district, not held under license or lease at the date of
such Proclamation, or over which the license or lease
has been cancelled, to be open for sale or selection,
in sections of such sizes and form, and on such date,
as he may determine; and any land so proclaimed
may thereafter be sold at a like price, and subject to
the like terms and conditions, or as near thereto as
may be, as Crown lands of the same class not within
a mining district: And the Governor may from time
to time alter, amend, or revoke any such Procla-
mation:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land
specified in the Schedule hereto shall be open for
sale, and that the twentieth day of March next ensuing
shall be the day on which the said land shall be open
for sale.
SCHEDULE.
SECTION 28, Block II., Longwood District, 1 acre.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Council;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of February, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Westland, containing by admeasurement two hun-
dred (200) acres, more or less, being Block numbered
one hundred and forty-four (CXLIV.) on the map
of the Waitaha Survey District. Bounded towards
the West by the Bowen-Okarito Road, commencing
at a point 30 chains north from the north bank
of Lake Ianthe; thence extending southerly down
west side of said road for 50 chains, with a depth
of 40 chains therefrom; and bounded on the North
and South by straight lines at right angles with said
road, to include the quantity. Subject to necessary
reserves, and exclusive of gold-workings.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and autho-
rities enabling me in that behalf, I, George
Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that, by Order in Council made
under the provisions of "The Bank Holidays Act,
1873," of even date herewith, I have appointed
Thursday, the twentieth day of February instant,
and Friday, the twenty-first day of February instant,
to be observed throughout the County of Patea as
bank holidays under and for the purposes of the
above-mentioned Act.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
