LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Lyttelton Har-
bour Board, under the provisions of "The
Public Works Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act
Amendment Act, 1878," and "The Harbours Act,
1878," propose to execute certain works, namely, the
reclamation of a portion of the Lyttelton Harbour at
Dampier's Bay, and the construction of a graving-
dock there; and that the lands described in the First
Schedule hereto are required to be taken for the
purposes of such works; and that a plan of the said
lands so required to be taken is deposited at the
office of the Harbour Board at Lyttelton, and is there
open for inspection between the hours of 10 a.m. and
4 p.m., together with a description of the works pro-
posed to be executed: And notice is also hereby
given that all persons affected by the execution of
the said works or by the taking of the said land
shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to
the execution of the said works or to the taking of
the said lands, set forth the same in writing within
forty days from the first publication of this notice,
addressed to the Chairman of the said Board, Lyt-
telton.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
Lot 2. All that parcel of land, containing one rood
nineteen perches (more or less), bounded as follows:
Commencing at a point on the north-western boun-
dary of Lyttelton Town Section numbered 313, the
said point being distant ninety-four links and nine-
tenths of a link south-westerly from the northern-
most corner of the said section; thence south-
westerly by a line bearing 216° 24' (magnetic), five
hundred and twenty-five links and four-tenths of a
link; thence westerly by a line bearing 259° 7' (mag-
netic), one hundred and eighty links; thence easterly
and north-easterly along the base of the cliffs at high-
water mark to the point thereon nearest to the
south-western corner of the said Section numbered
313; thence northerly by a straight line drawn to the
said south-western corner of Section numbered 313;
and from thence returning north-easterly along the
north-western boundary of the said section to the
commencing point: numbered 2 on the plan, and
therein coloured red.
Lot 4. All that parcel of land, containing fourteen
perches (more or less), bounded as follows: Com-
mencing at the westernmost extremity of the parcel
of land described as Lot 3 in the Second Schedule
hereto; thence westerly by a line bearing 259° 7'
(magnetic), three hundred and twenty-five links; and
from thence returning south-easterly and north-
easterly along high-water mark to the commencing
point: numbered 4 on the plan, and therein coloured
red.
Lot 6. All that parcel of land, containing three
perches and seven-tenths of a perch (more or less),
bounded as follows: Commencing at the western-
most extremity of the parcel of land described as Lot
5 in the Second Schedule hereto; thence westerly by
a line bearing 259° 7' (magnetic), sixty-six links;
and from thence returning south-easterly and north-
easterly along high-water mark to the commencing
point: numbered 6 on the plan, and therein coloured
red.
Lot 8. All that parcel of land, containing ten
perches (more or less), bounded as follows: Com-
mencing at the westernmost extremity of the parcel
of land described as Lot 7 in the Second Schedule
hereto; thence westerly by a line bearing 259° 7'
(magnetic), eighty links; thence south-westerly by a
line bearing 208° 31' (magnetic), one hundred and
thirty-six links; and from thence returning north-
easterly along high-water mark to the commencing
point: numbered 8 on the plan, and therein coloured
red.
Lot 10. All that parcel of land, containing ten
perches and eight-tenths of a perch (more or less),
bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-
westernmost extremity of the parcel of land described
as Lot 9 in the Second Schedule hereto; thence
south-westerly by a line bearing 208° 31' (magnetic),
three hundred and thirty links; and from thence
returning north-easterly along high-water mark to
the commencing point: numbered 10 on the plan,
and therein coloured red.
Lot 12. All that parcel of land, containing two
acres and two perches (more or less), bounded as
follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of
Lyttelton Town Section numbered 234; thence
southerly and south-westerly along the said section
and Section numbered 232 to the southernmost
corner of the latter section; thence north-westerly
along the last-mentioned section and Section num-
bered 231 to the westernmost corner of the latter
section; thence south-westerly by a line in continua-
tion of the north-western boundary of the last-men-
tioned section, one hundred and forty-two links and
three-tenths of a link; thence north-easterly at an
angle of 45° 55', sixty links and eight-tenths of a
link; thence south-easterly by a line parallel to the
south-western boundary of the said Sections num-
bered 231 and 232, and one hundred links distant
therefrom, to the southernmost boundary of Rural
Section numbered 247; thence south-westerly along
that boundary to the south-west corner of the said
rural section; thence south-westerly by a line in
continuation of the last-mentioned boundary, eight
links; thence south-easterly by a line bearing 124°
31' (magnetic), one hundred links; thence north-
easterly along high-water mark to the north-western
boundary of the Reserve numbered 70 at Naval
Point; thence north-easterly along that boundary to
its north-eastern extremity; thence north-westerly
along high-water mark to the southern extremity of
the parcel of land described as Lot 11 in the Second
Schedule hereto; and from thence returning westerly,
one hundred links, to the commencing point: num-
bered 12 on the plan, and therein coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Lot 1. All that parcel of land, containing one perch
and seventeen-hundredths of a perch (more or less),
being part of Lyttelton Town Section numbered 313,
and bounded as follows: Commencing at the northern-
most corner of the said section; thence south-easterly
along the north-eastern boundary of the said section,
sixteen links and nine-tenths of a link; thence south-
westerly by a line bearing 216° 24' (magnetic), one
hundred and two links and eight-tenths of a link; and
from thence returning north-easterly along the north-
western boundary of the said section, ninety-four
links and nine-tenths of a link, to the commencing
point: numbered 1 on the plan, and therein coloured
green.
Lot 3. All that parcel of land, containing one perch
(more or less), bounded as follows: Commencing at
the westernmost extremity of the parcel of land
described as Lot 2 in the First Schedule hereto; thence
westerly by a line bearing 259° 7' (magnetic), one
hundred and thirty-five links; and from thence re-
turning north-easterly and easterly along high-water
mark to the commencing point: numbered 8 on the
plan, and therein coloured green.
Lot 5. All that parcel of land, containing two
perches (more or less), bounded as follows: Commence-
ing at the westernmost extremity of the parcel of
land described as Lot 4 in the First Schedule hereto;
