surveyed, or who, having made their selection, shall
fail to produce surveys thereof to the said Court, and
all claimants from whom surveys of their claims have
been required who shall fail to produce them to the
said Court, and all claimants who shall fail to appear
at the said Court to have their respective claims
finally determined, shall be deemed respectively to
have abandoned their claims, and every claimant
failing as aforesaid shall have no further right, title,
or interest in respect of his claim, or in respect of any
land the subject of such claim.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Lyell on or before
the 27th day of December, 1879.

Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lyell.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: George Zanetti and Robert Perkins.
Style under which it is intended to conduct the busi-
ness: "Sydney Gold-Mining Company." 16 acres
2 roods, at north side of Lyell Creek, about 1½ miles
from Lyell Township.

Applicant: Thomas J. Metcalfe. Style under which
it is intended to conduct the business: "The Times
Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods, three
miles from Lyell, on Lyell Creek.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this ninth
day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-nine.

Sale of Rural Lands.

IN pursuance of "The Land Act, 1877," and "The
Crown Lands Sale Act, 1877," the Land Board
for the Land District of Marlborough hereby
notifies that the allotments of rural land mentioned
in the following Schedule will be offered for sale by
public auction, at the upset prices specified in the
said Schedule, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, at
noon, on Tuesday, the 6th day of January, 1880.

One-fourth of the purchase-money must be paid
at the sale, and the remaining three-fourths within
one month, or the amount paid will be forfeited. A
deposit of £1 for the Crown grant of each section
must be paid on completion of the purchase.

Immediately after the auction of the above lands
a license under clause 149 of "The Land Act, 1877,"
to authorize the occupation of Section 39, District
of Pelorus Valley, containing 64 acres, will be
offered by public auction, at the upset annual rent
of £7 10s. The first year's rent to be paid at the
auction. All subsequent rent to be paid in advance
on the 2nd January in each year.

25th day of November, 1879.
