INVERCARGILL.
Goods of Classes A, B, C, D, conveyed over the Bluff to Invercargill line, will be
charged as Class D. Ships' goods will be charged according to bill of lading, or
by weight or measurement, at option of Manager; other goods by weight or
measurement, as the Manager directs.
INVERCARGILL JETTY AND RAILWAY STATION.

Demurrage at the rate of one pound (£1) per truck per day will be charged on
trucks not loaded or unloaded within 4 working hours after arrival.
All through goods will be booked at ordinary rates, one mile for the Branch Line
between Invercargill Station and Jetty will be added to the mileage to or from
Invercargill.
PART V.—SPECIAL GOODS.
Under "The Public Works Act, 1876," the Governor is empowered to declare
certain descriptions of goods, or goods of beyond a certain value, to be "special
goods;" and unless such goods are declared by the consignors to be special goods,
and their value is stated in the consignment note, the Government is exempted from
all liability for their loss or damage beyond the following values, that is to say:—

Upon all special goods so declared an additional charge will be made of one-third
of the ordinary rate for every £100 or fraction of £100 of such declared value.
Any animal or package of a declared value of more than £500 will not be carried
except under a special contract.
PART VI.—INDEX TO CLASSIFICATION OF
RATES.
All goods carried on the railways will be charged under the class specified in this
Index.
Where goods are to be carried at a rate and a half or double rate, the terminal
and minimum charges are to be increased in the same proportion.
If any goods are required to be carried which are not mentioned in this Index
they shall be carried as Class A until the Minister shall determine in what class
they shall be charged.
