Horses and Carriages.

For any Distance not exceeding 10 Miles. For every Mile after the first 10 Miles.

Each additional horse belonging to the same owner 6 0 0 2
Two-wheeled carriages, each 8 0 0 3
Four-wheeled " 10 0 0 4

Entire horses requiring a special box will be charged a rate and a half, but if allowed to travel with an additional horse belonging to the same owner, ordinary rates will be charged.
Foals, one year old and under, half-rate.

Dogs.
Dogs must be provided with chains, or sufficient means of securing them. They will not be allowed in carriages, and the sender must obtain a ticket, to be given up at the end of the journey, before the dog is delivered.

The charge for conveyance of dogs for every twenty-five miles, or fractional part of twenty-five miles, will be per head ... 0 6
The maximum charge per head ... 5 0

Lambs, Sucking Pigs, and Poultry,
Properly secured in crates or baskets, will be carried at parcel rates.

Milk.
For distances of not more than 10 miles ... ¾d. per gallon.
For every additional 10 miles or fraction thereof ... ¾d. "
Minimum charge, 9d.
Empties will be returned free.
Milk will be carried only at the owner's sole risk, who will take all responsibility of loading and unloading.

PART III.—GOODS.

CLASSIFIED RATES.
N.B.—In computing the charges from the following tables of rates per mile, the rate over each successive distance specified in the table is to be computed severally, to make up the charge for the whole distance over which the goods are carried.

Class A.

For distances of—
Not more than 50 miles ... ... 6d. per ton per mile.
More than 50 miles and not more than 100 miles ... 5d. "
" 100 " " 150 ... 4d. "
" 150 " ... 3d. "
Minimum quantity, 2 cwt. Minimum charge, 1s.
Terminal Charges.
In addition to the mileage rates, a terminal charge will be made as follows:—
Upon goods consigned to Dunedin, Christchurch, and Inver- ... 3s. 9d. per ton.
cargill, not to private sidings
Upon goods consigned to all other stations, and to private ... 2s. 6d. "
sidings in the above-named towns

Class B.

For distances of—
Not more than 50 miles ... ... 5d. per ton per mile.
More than 50 miles and not more than 100 miles ... 4d. "
" 100 " " 150 ... 3d. "
" 150 " ... 2d. "

Class C.
