Districts constituted under "The Marriage Act
Amendment Act, 1858."

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by "The Marriage Act
Amendment Act, 1858," I, Sir Hercules George
Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of former
Proclamations duly made and issued in pursuance of
the said power and authority as relate to the Oamaru
district constituted for the purposes of the said Act,
the boundaries whereof were therein set forth, and
do proclaim and declare that the territory formerly
comprised within the said district shall be and the
same is hereby divided for the purposes of the said
Act into two districts, the names and boundaries
whereof shall be as follow:β
DUNTROON DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North and North-east by
the Waitaki River (from the junction of the Maere-
whenua River) and its Ohau branch to Lake Ohau,
and by the south shore of that lake and a line
running westward therefrom to the Dunstan Moun-
tains; towards the West and South-west by the
Dunstan Mountains to Mount St. Bathans, the
Hawkdun Mountains, and the Kakanui Mountains
to Kakanui Peak; towards the East by the north
branch of the Kakanui River to a point due south
of the junction before mentioned of the Maere-
whenua River with the River Waitaki, and by a
straight line to that junction, the commencing point.
OAMARU DISTRICT.
Bounded towards the North by the Waitaki River
from the sea to the junction of the Maerewhenua
River; towards the West by a straight line from
that junction drawn due south to the north branch
of the Kakanui River; towards the South by the
last-mentioned river to the sea; and towards the
East by the sea to the Waitaki River.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall
come into operation and take effect on the first day
of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-nine.

Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's
Colony of New Zealand and its De-
pendencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House,
at Wellington, this twenty-first day of
October, in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-
nine.
