Lands declared to be Waste Lands of the Crown.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the seventeenth section of "The
Waste Lands Administration Act, 1876," it
is enacted that, whenever the Governor is satisfied
that any lands purchased out of the sums authorized
under "The Immigration and Public Works Act,
1870," and any Act amending the same, to be issued
and expended in the purchase of lands in the North
Island of New Zealand, are free from Native claims
and all difficulties in connection therewith, he shall,
by Proclamation, declare such lands to be waste
lands of the Crown, subject, except as thereafter in
the said Act provided, to be sold and dealt with
according to the provisions of the laws regulating the
sale and disposal of waste lands of the Crown for the
time being in force in the land district in which such
land is situated; and thereupon such land so pro-
claimed shall become subject to such provisions:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule
hereto have been purchased out of the sums author-
ized under "The Immigration and Public Works
Act, 1870," and Acts amending the same, and it is
expedient that the said lands should be declared to
be waste lands of the Crown:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, being satisfied that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto are free from Native
claims and all difficulties in connection there-
with, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me by "The Waste Lands Ad-
ministration Act, 1876," do hereby proclaim and
declare the said lands to be waste lands of the Crown,
subject to be sold and dealt with according to the
provisions of the laws regulating the sale and disposal
of waste lands of the Crown in force in the Land
District of Auckland.
SCHEDULE.
TE AROHA (EASTERN PORTION).
ALL that piece of land in the District of Thames,
in the Provincial District of Auckland, being the
eastern portion of Te Aroha Block, containing by
admeasurement 22,726 acres, more or less, exclusive
of the areas hereinafter excepted. Bounded towards
the North by lines, 45021 links; towards the East by
the Waitawheta Stream and by the Tauranga Con-
fiscation Boundary line to Puapua Tirohia, 106681
links; towards the South by the Waiharakeke Block,
22100 links; and towards the West by the Waihou
River: excepting the Ruakaka Block, containing
415 acres, and three Natives reserves, containing
7,519 acres, more or less.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distin-
guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint
George, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of September, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-nine.

Setting apart Land in Otago for Agricultural Leases
and Sale on Deferred Payments.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to
cause Crown lands situate within a gold field to be
selected and set apart for the purpose of granting
agricultural leases thereon and therefor, or for
alienation by occupation licenses on deferred pay-
ments under any law for the time being in force in
the land district in which such mining district is
situate :
And whereas the lands described in the First
Schedule hereto are Crown lands subject to be dealt
with under the provisions of the said Act, and it is
deemed expedient to set the same apart for the pur-
pose of granting agricultural leases thereon and

for "fifteenth," read "twenty-first."
