Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicant specified in the an-
nexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections
against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Longwood, on or
before the 21st day of October, 1878.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Riverton.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Edmund Cookson. Style under which
it is intended to conduct the business: "Bonny Jean
Gold-Mining Company." 1,000 feet by 600 feet, at
Longwood, in the Longwood Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this nine-
teenth day of September, one thousand
eight hundred and seventy-eight.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels of
land hereinafter described will be brought under
the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act, 1870,"
unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same within
one calendar month from the date of publication
hereof in the Gazette.

WILLIAM TISCH.-Town Allotments Nos. 85
and 90, Mataitawa, 1 acre, and Rural Allotments
Nos. 95, 96, 97, and 98, Huirangi District, containing
together 200 acres, more or less. In occupation of
H. B. Thomas, George Russling, and William Don-
caster, as tenants from year to year.

Diagrams may be inspected at this office.
