Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN N conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicant specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Nelson Creek, on or
before the 26th day of September, 1878.
Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Ahaura.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: Patrick Hickey. Style under which it
is intended to conduct the business : "Hickey's
Claim." 3 acres, at Hatter's Terrace, Ahaura, in the
Nelson South-West Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Nelson, this thirteenth

GARVEN, of Kilmarnock, in the County of
Ayr, in Scotland, Draper, Brother of JAMES GARVEN,
late of Invercargill, Draper, deceased, intestate,
claiming as Heir-at-law of the said James Garven, has
made application to the District Land Registrar of the
District of Southland to be registered as Proprietor
of an estate in fee-simple in Section 3, Block I.,
Township of Mataura Bridge; and that the said
Alexander Garven will be so registered as such Pro-
prietor, unless caveat be lodged at this office for-
bidding the same within one month from the date of
the gazetting this notice.
