LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.

N OTICE is hereby given that CHARLES MON-
TROSE RICHARDS, of the Town of Wan-
ganui, claiming as Devisee in trust under the Will of
JOSEPH MANUEL RICHARDS, late of Wanganui afore-
said, Settler, deceased, has made application to the
District Land Registrar of the District of Taranaki
to be registered as Proprietor of Section No. 10 on
the map of the Hawera Settlement; and that he will
be so registered unless caveat forbidding the same be
lodged at this office within one calendar month from
the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette.

N OTICE is hereby given that MOSES DAVIS
(commonly called "Moss Davis"), of the City
of Nelson, Merchant, claiming as Devisee under the
Will of his late Father, HYAM DAVIS, deceased, has
applied to be registered as Proprietor of part of Sec-
tion "487," situated in the said City of Nelson,
containing by estimation 10 perches or thereabouts;
and that he will be so registered unless caveat pro-
hibiting the same be lodged within one month after
the publication of the Gazette containing this notice.
Diagrams may be inspected at this office.

Meeting of the Shareholders of the Auck-
land
and Thames Steam-Packet Company (Limited) will
be held on the 16th day of October, 1878, at 3 p.m.,
at the office of Mr. John Waymouth, in the New
Zealand Insurance Buildings, Queen Street, Auck-
land, to consider the accounts of the Liquidator of
the said Company, and to pass a resolution that the
affairs of the Company have been fairly wound up.

Waikohu Road Board Office,

N OTICE is hereby given that the piece of road
known as "Waikohu and Patutahi," from Mr.
Scott's Crossing to Lavenham, has been duly surveyed,
and sanctioned by His Excellency the Governor, and
that the plans and specifications of the same will be
open to public inspection at the office of O. L. W.
Bousfield, Esq., Engineer to the Board, Gisborne, on
and after Monday, the 2nd September next.

All persons, occupiers or owners of land through
which the said road passes, having any objections to
make to the said line of road, are hereby required to
make such objections, addressed to the undersigned
within forty days of the date of this notice.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO EXTEND WATER-RACE.

District of Tuapeka, 30th August, 1878.
To the Warden and to the Mining Registrar at Law-
rence.

W E hereby give notice that we intend to extend
our Water-race, No. 468, for mining purposes,
commencing at a point at the head of said race in
Gabriel's Creek or Gully, and terminating in our
dam, No. 2640, situate in Gabriel's Creek or Gully.
The length of such extension of race is 500 yards
or thereabouts, and its intended course is from the
present head of the race to the said dam, in the
natural course of the creek.
The mean depth of such race is 2 feet, and the
mean breadth is 2 feet 6 inches.
