HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased, on
the recommendation of the Honourables the
Speaker and the Chairman of Committees of the
Legislative Council, to appoint

ARTHUR THOMAS BOTHAMLEY, Esq.,

to the office of Clerk-Assistant of the Legislative
Council, vice G. W. Jordan, Esq., resigned. Ap-
pointment to date from the 1st instant.

Inquest concerning alleged Escheat of Land.

UNDER and by virtue of a writ issued out of the
Supreme Court of New Zealand, Wellington
District, to me directed and delivered, I appoint
Thursday, the third day of October, 1878, at eleven
o'clock, in the forenoon, at the Courthouse, at Wanga-
nui, to be the time and place for the holding of
an inquest of office concerning the alleged escheat to
Her Majesty the Queen of part of Section No. 380, in
the Town of Wanganui, in the said district, whereof
one James Findlater, deceased, formerly of Wanga-
nui, agent, heretofore died possessed, as it is alleged.

Any person claiming title to the premises may
appear and support such claim at such inquest.

Given under my hand, at Wanganui aforesaid,
this seventh day of September, 1878.

I consent to the appointment of the Courthouse,
Wanganui, as the place for holding the above inquest.

IT is hereby notified that the principal moneys
secured by the debentures issued under the
Ordinance above cited, and falling due on the 1st
November next, will be paid on presentation of the
bonds on or after that date at the Bank of New
Zealand, London, or at the Bank of New Zealand,
Dunedin, whichsoever was the place at which the
last payment of interest on the respective bonds was
paid, viz. :-

At the Bank of New Zealand, London, Bonds
Nos. 418-427, 433-452, 471-490.

At the Bank of New Zealand, Dunedin, Bonds
Nos. 301-302, 364-417, 428-432, 453-470,
491-494, 496-500.
