Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or
before the 20th day of September, 1878.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lawrence.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: Horace Lyne Squires, John Thompson,
and Michael Monaghan. Style under which it is
intended to conduct the business: "The City Cement-
Crushing Company." 10 acres, Tuapeka East, in
the Tuapeka Mining District.

Applicants: Horace Lyne Squires and Thomas
Brydone. Style under which it is intended to con-
duct the business: "Brydone and Co." 2 acres,
Tuapeka East, in the Tuapeka Mining District.

TUAPEKA EAST DISTRICT.
Sections 10, 88, 39, 40, 56, 61, 62, 65, 70, 72, 73,
76, 78, 80, 83, and 87A, Block XIX.
These sections contain from 1 acre to 25 acres;
upset price, £2 per acre. Valuations: On Section
70, £8; on Section 72, £10; on Section 76, £100;
and on Section 78, £55. Sections subject to survey
fees will be stated at sale.

Section 9, 11 to 19, and 21 to 24, Block XX., resi-
dence areas, from 32 poles to 2 roods; upset price,
£20 per acre.

TABLE HILL DISTRICT.
Sections 2, 3, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 34, 35, 50, 78, 79,
and 80, Block IV.; upset price, £2 per acre.
These sections contain from 1 acre to 52 acres.
Sections 49 and 64, Block IV., respectively 26 and
50 acres; upset price, £1 per acre; and survey fees.
NOTE.—Valuations on sections in Block IV., Table Hill—
viz., on Section 78, £40; on Section 79, £20; and on Section
80, £15.
Sections 21, 26, 28, 29, 38, 39, and 40, Block V.,
respectively, contain from 14 to 238 acres, at the
upset price of £1 per acre.

GREENVALE DISTRICT.
Section 1, Block X., 203 acres 1 rood; upset price,
£1 10s. per acre: and Section 27, Block V., 5 acres
