To the Mining Registrar at Switzer's, of the Switzer's
Mining District, and all other persons whom it may
concern.

TAKE notice that I intend to use a Dam-bank
already constructed, and form a Reservoir for
the storage of water, on Run 194, Waikaia Plains;
and that the following are the particulars respecting
such Dam and Reservoir:-
Locality: Near the Sheepwash on Run 194.
Length of dam: 500 feet.
Greatest height: 9 feet.
Greatest breadth of base: 6 feet.
Dated at Switzer's, this 16th day of July, 1878.

application must lodge his objection in writing at the
Warden's Office at Switzer's, within fourteen clear

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A
TAIL-RACE.

Tuapeka, 8th July, 1878.
To the Warden at Lawrence.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Tail-race for mining purposes, commencing
at a point of our lease in Broughton's Gully, and
terminating at the Weatherstone Creek; and we
estimate that fourteen days will be required for its
construction.
The length of such tail-race will be a quarter of a
mile or thereabouts, and its intended course is down
the gully into Weatherstone Creek.
The greatest depth of such tail-race will be 1 foot.
The greatest width of such tail-race will be 2 feet.

Reefton, 27th July, 1878.
NOTICE. -At an Extraordinary Meeting of Share-
holders held on this day, it was resolved to
increase the capital from twelve thousand pounds to
fifteen thousand pounds, by increasing the number of

shares from 24,000 of ten shillings each to 30,000
of ten shillings each. The 6,000 additional shares to
be contributing shares to the extent of ten shillings
each.

I, the undersigned, hereby make application to
register the Occidental Gold-Mining Company
as a Limited Company, under the provisions of "The
Mining Companies Act, 1872."

  1. The name of the Company is to be the Occidental
    Gold-Mining Company (Limited).
  2. The place of operations is at Little Boatman's Creek, in
    the County of Inangahua.
  3. The registered office of the Company will be situated in
    Broadway, Reefton, County of Inangahua.
  4. The nominal capital of the Company is twelve thousand
    pounds, in twenty-four thousand shares of ten shillings each.
  5. The number of shares subscribed for is twenty-four
    thousand.
  6. The number of paid-up shares is nil.
  7. The amount of capital considered to be paid up is three
    thousand pounds.
  8. The name of the Manager is Patrick Brennan.
  9. The names and addresses and occupations of the share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at this date,

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO REGISTER WATER-
RACE.

Otago Gold Fields, Arrow,
19th July, 1878.

To the Mining Registrar, also to the Warden at
Arrowtown, of the Otago Gold Fields Mining
District, and all other persons whom it may concern.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to bring
under section 31 of "The Mines Act, 1877," our
Water-race, with its tributaries and extensions, as
hereunder specified: Commencing at a point at the
north branch of the Swift Burn Creek, near the foot
486 of the Range Crown Terrace, and taking in the
Royal Burn and the Try Burn, and terminating at
Arrow River, near Arrowtown. Right-hand extension
terminating in the New Chum Gully, near Mount
Beetham. Left-hand extension: No. 1 terminating at
the Royal Burn; No. 2 also in the Royal Burn; No. 3
at White Chapel Flat; No. 4 at Walter's Gully,
Crown Terrace.
The length of such race and extensions is twelve
miles or thereabouts, and course of main race is
