A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis
of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said
Act shall come into force, in respect of all elective
offices of the Akaroa and Wainui Road Board, within
the district known as the Akaroa and Wainui Road
District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
of Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave,
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifth day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Extending Boundaries of Borough of Arrowtown.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-fifth section of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation, in-
corporate into a borough any district adjacent thereto
not being part of an existing borough, subject to
certain conditions therein particularly specified:
And whereas the Governor did, on the sixth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight,
cause a notice setting forth the boundaries of the
district described in the Schedule hereto to be pub-
lished in the Borough of Arrowtown, and in the said
district that it was proposed to incorporate into the
aforesaid borough the said district: And whereas no
petition has been presented to the Governor, as by
the said Act is provided, praying that such district or
part thereof should not be incorporated into the said
borough:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the said "Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876," and of every other power
and authority in that behalf me enabling, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the district the boundaries
whereof are specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby
incorporated into the Borough of Arrowtown.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement two hundred and sixty-
four (264) acres, more or less, being part of the area
known as the Mining Reserve, Block X., Shotover
District. Bounded towards the North by Arrowtown
Borough from the north-eastern corner of Section
numbered 38, Block VII., Shotover, to the Arrow
River; towards the North-east by the Arrow River
to a point in continuation of the southern boundary
of Section numbered 25, Block VII., Shotover Dis-
trict; towards the South by other part of Mining
Reserve, being a line due east and west in continuation
of south boundary of Section 25, Block VII., afore-
said; and towards the South-west by Sections 25, 30,
31, 32, 88, 33, 34, 35, 67, 36, 37, and 38, Block VII.,
Shotover District aforesaid, to the starting point, and
intersected by a road line one hundred (100) links
wide as the same is more particularly delineated on
the plans in the Survey Office, Dunedin.
