Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or
before the 22nd day of August, 1878.

Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Queenstown.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: Henry Honncastle and Others. Style
under which it is intended to conduct the business:
"Perseverance Gold-Mining Company." 8 acres, at
Duncan's Flat, Skipper's, in the Queenstown Mining
District.

Applicant: John Aspinall. Style under which it
is intended to conduct the business: "The Skippers'
Falls." 10 acres, adjoining above, in the Queens-
town Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this twenty-
fifth day of July, one thousand eight hun-
dred and seventy-eight.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels
of land hereinafter described will be brought
under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same
within one month after the date of the Gazette
containing this notice.

  1. WILLIAM WILLIAMS.-1 rood 1 perch,
    part of Rural Section 40, Lyttelton District. Oc-
    cupied by Applicant.

  2. THOMAS BARNES. -1 acre, part of
    Rural Section 3, Christchurch District. Occupied
    by Peter Bronklausen.

  3. DAVID PALMER.-25 acres, Rural Sec-
    tion 4607, Ashley District. Occupied by Applicant.

  4. THOMAS WARD, JUN., and THOMAS
    BROWNLEE. -75 acres 3 roods 24 perches, part of
    Rural Section 8023, Malvern District. Occupied by
    Thomas Brownlee.

  5. DONALD MCLACHLAN. - 60 acres,
    part of Rural Section 12693, Oxford District. Oc-
    cupied by Applicant.

  6. GEORGE LEATHERDALE, -50 acres,
    Rural Section 3176, Mandeville District. Occupied
    by Applicant.
