Waitahuna Road District altered.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seven of "The Otago
Roads Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance,
1874," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the
Superintendent, upon the recommendation of the
Provincial Council, from time to time, by Proclama-
tion in the Gazette, to alter the boundaries of any
district, and either to enlarge or diminish the area
thereof: And whereas by "The Abolition of Pro-
vinces Act, 1875," the hereinbefore recited power
is vested in and is to be exercised and performed by
the Governor: And whereas there exist in the
Provincial District of Otago two road districts
named respectively the Mount Stuart Road District
and the Waitahuna Road District: And whereas it
is expedient to alter the boundaries of the said two
districts:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the herein-
before recited Act and Ordinance, and of every other
power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the
said two districts are altered so that the boundaries
set forth in the First Schedule hereto shall be the
boundaries of the Mount Stuart Road Board District,
and the boundaries set forth in the Second Schedule
hereto shall be the boundaries of the Waitahuna
Road Board District; and the areas of the respective
districts shall be and they are hereby enlarged or
diminished accordingly.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
Description of Amended Boundaries of the Mount
Stuart Road District.

THE Mount Stuart Road District shall comprise all
that area bounded by a line commencing at a point
on the south-west boundary of Block IV., Waitahuna
East Survey District, distant three thousand six
hundred and forty-four (3644) links from trigono-
metrical station M, in a south-easterly direction on
a bearing of 129° 29′ 16", being the most southerly
point in Section numbered 29 of said Block IV.,
and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction
along the boundary between the Tuapeka and Bruce
Counties to a point due east of trigonometrical
station F, Table Hill District; thence by a line due
east, through said trigonometrical station F, to the
boundary of Hundreds; thence in a southerly and
westerly direction along the Tokomairiro River, the
western boundary of the Tokomairiro Road District,
and the northern boundary of the Crichton Road
District, to the eastern boundary of the Balmoral
Road District; thence in a northerly direction along
the said eastern boundary of the Balmoral Road
District, to the starting point.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
Description of Amended Boundaries of Waitahuna
Road District.

THE Waitahuna Road District shall comprise all that
area in the Provincial District of Otago bounded by
a line commencing at a point on the south-west
boundary of Block IV., Waitahuna East Survey Dis-
trict, distant three thousand six hundred and forty-
four (3644) links from trigonometrical station M, in a
south-easterly direction, on a bearing of 129° 29' 16",
being the most southerly point in Section numbered
29 of said Block IV., and proceeding thence in
a north-westerly direction along the said south-
western boundaries of Block IV. and of Block VI.,
Waitahuna East, and Block VII., Waitahuna West
Survey Districts, to the most southerly point in
Section numbered 15 of said Block VII.; thence in a
north-easterly and north-westerly direction around
the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of
said Section 15 to the south-eastern corner of Section
numbered 10 of said Block VII.; ; thence due north
along the eastern boundaries of said Section 10 and
Section 11 of said Block VII. to the northern boun-
dary of said Block VII.; thence due east along the
northern boundary of said Block VII. to the western
boundary of Block VII., Waitahuna East Survey
District; thence due north through trigonometrical
station H, along the western boundary of Block VII.,
Waitahuna East District aforesaid, to its northern
boundary; thence in an easterly direction along the
northern boundaries of said Block VII. and Block X.,
Waitahuna East Survey District, to the Bung Town
Creek; thence in a northerly direction along the
Bung Town Creek to the north-east corner of Section
numbered 11, Block IX., Tuapeka East District;
thence due east to the eastern boundary of the
Tuapeka Survey District; thence due south along
the said eastern boundary of the Tuapeka East
District to the county boundary; thence along the
boundary between the Tuapeka and Bruce Counties
in a south-westerly direction, to the starting point.
All as shown on the maps deposited in the Survey
Office, Dunedin.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United
Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave of New
Ross, in the County of Wexford, in the
Peerage of Ireland; a Member of Her
Majesty's Most Honorable Privy Coun-
cil; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of January, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight.
