of Towns Regulation Act, 1875," to approve of
THOMAS HUMPHRIES, Esq.,
the Chief Surveyor of Taranaki, as the Surveyor to
approve of the plans of towns prior to their sale,
showing the reserves required by the said Act.

missioner of Railways' Office, Christchurch.
FREDERICK BACK to be General Manager of the
Christchurch Section, New Zealand Railways.
WILLIAM MOWATT HANNAY to be Assistant
Traffic Manager at Christchurch.

Alterations and Additions to the Rates for the Con-
veyance, Delivery, and Storage of Goods, Parcels,
&c., on all the New Zealand Railways.
IN accordance with the By-laws for the New Zea-
land Railways, fixed by Order in Council, dated
the 17th day of April, 1877, the following alterations
to the rates for the conveyance, delivery, and storage
of goods, parcels, &c., on all the New Zealand Rail-
ways are hereby declared to be fixed. To take effect
from the 1st day of June, 1878 :-
CLASS F.-MINERALS.
The minimum charge per ton on sand and gravel,
from Petone Station to Wellington Station, to be
one shilling and sixpence (1s. 6d.).

District of Tuapeka, 3rd May, 1878.
To the Mining Registrar, at Lawrence, of Tuapeka
Mining District.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Water-race, and divert water for mining
purposes, commencing at a point at Reedy Creek,
and terminating at our lease, Mitchell's Flat.
The length of such race is eight miles or there-
abouts, and its intended course is east.
The mean depth and breadth of such race is 3 feet
by 3 feet, and it is proposed to divert six sluice-heads
of water, and the time estimated for the completion
of such race is twelve months.
