the said recited Acts, and of every other power
and authority enabling me in that behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the limits and boun-
daries of the Victoria Wharf at Tauranga, in the
Provincial District of Auckland, in the said colony,
shall be those hereinafter set forthโthat is to say, to
the Westward by the eastern side of the street of the
Town of Tauranga called "The Strand," eighty feet,
being forty-five feet to the northward of a point found
by continuing the southern side of Harrington Street
to the eastern side of The Strand, and thirty-five
feet to the southward of the said point; to the
Southward by a line three hundred and sixty-five feet
long, drawn parallel to the said southern side of
Harrington Street from the southern point of the
western boundary; to the Northward by a line three
hundred and sixty-five feet long, drawn from the
northern point of western limit and parallel to the
southern boundary; to the Eastward by a line eighty
feet long, drawn between the eastern ends of the
northern and southern boundaries.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wex-
ford, in the Peerage of Ireland; a
Member of Her Majesty's Most Honor-
able Privy Council; Knight Grand Cross
of the Most Distinguished Order of
Saint Michael and Saint George; Go-
vernor and Commander-in-Chief in and
over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Southland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas the Land Board of Southland did, on
the ninth day of May, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-eight, pass a resolution recommending
that the land described in the Schedule hereto
annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred
payments:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the above- | named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
land described in the Schedule hereto is set apart
for sale on deferred payments; and that Monday,
the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight, shall be the day on which
the said land shall be open for application at the
Land Office at Invercargill, in allotments as sur-
veyed and marked on the survey map in the office of
the Chief Surveyor.
