"Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," brought
into force in Hokonui Rabbit District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Rabbit Nuisance Act 1876
Amendment Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation,
declare that "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," shall come into force in any district con-
stituted under "The Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1876," or
the Act now in recital, without such request as is
mentioned in section three of "The Regulation of
Local Elections Act, 1876:" And whereas the Dis-
trict of Hokonui is a district constituted under "The
Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1876," and it is desirable to
proclaim "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," in force therein:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise of the power
vested in me by the said first-mentioned Act, pro-
claim and declare that, from and after the date of this
Proclamation, "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," shall be in force in the rabbit district of
Hokonui aforesaid.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and Baron
Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the County
of York, in the Peerage of the United

Lands taken for a Road through Application No. 762,
now known as Section No. 44, Block II., Maunga-
tua District, County of Taieri.
To His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand.
MAY it please your Excellency,-
The Waipori Road Board, requiring for the
purpose of forming a public road that piece of land,
as shown by the annexed map, containing by admea-
surement three (3) roods and eight (8) poles, and
situated in Block II., Maungatua District, County of
Taieri, in the Provincial District of Otago, New Zea-
land, being part of Application No. 762 on the map
of the said district, has duly complied with the pro-
visions contained in sections 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 of
"The Public Works Act, 1876."
The present proprietor, Mr. Robert Robinson, of
Lake Waipori, County Taieri, Provincial District of
Otago, has no objection to the piece of land as afore-
said being taken; and, as a great public benefit will
be derived from a road being taken through the piece
of land as above described, the Waipori Road Board
humbly hopes your Excellency will see fit, by Pro-
clamation publicly notified, to declare the aforesaid
piece of land to be taken for the purpose of making
a public road.
DESCRIPTION.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement three (3) roods and
eight (8) poles, more or less, situate in the Maunga-
tua Survey District, being part of Application No.
762, now known as Section No. 44 on the map of
Block II. of the said district. Commencing at a
point on the north-west boundary of said section
numbered 44, distant from Trigonometrical Station
D in a south-westerly direction, bearing 224Β° 55β²,
three thousand six hundred and twenty and nine-
tenths (3620-9) links; and bounded towards the
North-west by a continuation of said north-west
boundary of said Section No. 44, nine hundred
and forty-three and six-tenths (943-6) links; and
towards the East and South-east by other part of
said Section No. 44, one thousand and forty-five and
two-tenths (1045-2) links: as the same is delineated
on the plan hereto attached.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Public Works Act, 1876," it
is enacted that, whenever lands are required
to be taken for public works, the Minister for Public
Works in the case of Government works, and the
County Council or Road Board in the case of county
or district works, shall cause a survey to be made
and plans to be prepared showing generally the
nature of the works proposed to be executed and the
lands required to be taken for the same, together
with the names of the owners and occupiers of such
lands as far as they can be ascertained, and shall
cause a copy of such plans to be deposited in some
place in the road district in which such lands are:
And it is further enacted that the said Minister in
