nearest inspector in this province, stating the brands
of such animals, the place at which such animals will
cross the boundary, the date of intended crossing,
the place from which they were brought, the road
they are desirous of travelling, and their destination:
Provided that no notice will be required for horse or
bullock teams. Any person failing to show such
notice has been given, to be liable to a penalty of not
less than ten pounds nor more than thirty pounds.
11. Any person importing or introducing, by sea
or land, any animal or animals found to be suffering
from pleuro-pneumonia or any infectious or con-
tagious disease, shall be liable to a penalty of not
less than five pounds nor more than fifty pounds.
ORDERS REGULATING THE REMOVAL AND TREAT-
MENT OF ANIMALS SUFFERING FROM ANY INFEC-
TIOUS OR CONTAGIOUS DISEASES.

Any animal suffering from pleuro-pneumonia
or any infectious or contagious disease may be de-
stroyed by the owner, agent, or person apparently in
charge, by order of an inspector; and any owner,
agent, or person apparently in charge not complying
with such order shall be liable to a penalty of five
pounds for every day such animal is left undestroyed
after the date of such notice; and the inspector may
give an order to seize and destroy such animal or
animals, and any person authorized by the inspector
may destroy such animals accordingly. -
Any person or persons removing any animal
or animals suffering from pleuro-pneumonia, or any
infectious or contagious disease, through, across, or
out of that portion of the Province of South Australia,
known as the Districts of Victoria and Albert,
situated between the boundary line of the province
between the Colonies of Victoria and South Australia
on the east side, and by the coast line from the
southernmost point of the aforesaid boundary line to
the mouth of the River Murray, and from thence
following the River Murray to the boundary of the
Colony of Victoria, into or through all that part of
the Province of South Australia situated to the west
and north of the River Murray, from the mouth to
the boundary of New South Wales on such river, or
shall remove any animal or animals so suffering
through, across, or out of that part of the Province
of South Australia as mentioned aforesaid, situated
to the west and north of the River Murray, into or
through the Districts of Victoria and Albert as
hereinbefore described, shall be liable to a penalty of
not less than five pounds for every animal so moved
in contravention of this clause. -
Any person or persons so driving or removing
any animals suffering from pleuro-pneumonia or any
infectious or contagious disease, as mentioned in the
preceding order, and leaving on any road or land any
animal so suffering without destroying any such
animal so left, shall be liable to a penalty of not less
than five pounds for every animal so left, and shall
also be liable to a further penalty of not less than
five pounds for every day on which any such animal
shall be left undestroyed. -
No person or persons shall remove any animal
or animals from any ship or vessel to another ship or
vessel, whilst any ship or vessel is within the boun-
daries of the port of Port Adelaide, or within the
boundaries of any other port in the Province of
South Australia, without an order in writing from an
inspector. Any person or persons acting in contra-
vention of this clause shall be liable to a penalty of
not less than five pounds nor more than fifty
pounds.
"Destroy" shall mean kill and burn or bury at
least twelve inches beneath the surface of the
ground.
"Inspector" shall mean any Inspector of Sheep
as appointed under Act No. 19, of 1859, and any
person who shall be authorized by the Hon. Com-
missioner of Crown Lands to act as an inspector.
The word "animal" in these regulations shall
mean sheep, cattle, or horses, of every age and sex,
swine, and goats.
"Land" shall mean paddocks, enclosures, yards,
stables, and buildings.
And the Hon. the Commissioner of Crown Lands
is to give the necessary directions herein accordingly.
