DAVID LEWIS, a Commissioner duly appointed by virtue of the Ordinance No. 15, Session XI., of the Legislative Council of the Islands of New Zealand, to hear and decide Claims to Land by persons claiming title thereto from, through, or under the New Zealand Company, report that the Claim of the under-mentioned persons having been duly referred to me for investigation, I do hereby decide that the said persons are entitled to receive the Crown Grant of the land set against their names in the annexed Schedule.

PATENT FOR AN AUTOMATIC DAM OR SPUR.
THIS is to notify that WILLIAM DOUSLIN, of Blenheim, in the Provincial District of Marlborough, Architect, did, on this fifth day of February instant, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed; and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.
And I do further notify that the said William Douslin has given notice in writing at my office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the tenth day of May next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the sixth day of May next, at my office in Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.

PATENT CAITHNESS FLAGGING, ETC.
THIS is to notify that CHARLES O'NEILL, of Wellington, New Zealand, Civil Engineer and Architect, did, on the fourth day of December instant, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer, in the Colonial Secretary's Office in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing under his hand and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed; and that by reason of such deposit the said Invention is protected and secured to him exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing.
And I do further notify that the said Charles O'Neill has given notice in writing at my office of his intention to proceed with his application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed Friday, the tenth day of May next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto.

LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICE.
ELIZABETH DAVIDSON, of the City of Auckland, in New Zealand, Widow, claiming as Devisee under the Will of her Husband, ALEXANDER DAVIDSON, late of the City of Auckland aforesaid, Engineer, deceased, has applied to be registered as Proprietor of an estate in fee-simple in respect of all that parcel of land situated in the City of Auckland aforesaid, containing eighteen perches, more or less, being part of Allotment forty-seven, of Section thirty-two, and being the whole of the land included in Volume 1, folio 54, of the Register Book.
The Applicant will be registered as aforesaid unless caveat forbidding the same be lodged in this office on or before the 23rd day of March next.

ELSPET GRANT (formerly Elspet Anderson), Wife of PETER GRANT, of Dalraich, Elginshire, Scotland, Farmer, and Heir-at-law of ALEXANDER ANDERSON, late of Tauranga, in the Colony of New Zealand, Settler, has applied to be registered as Proprietor of an estate in fee-simple in respect of a certain allotment of land and premises, being Allotment one hundred and ninety-two, of Section two, Tauranga, containing one rood, more or less, and being part of the land described in Volume 2, folio 282, of the Register Book.
The Applicant will be registered as aforesaid unless caveat forbidding the same be lodged in this office on or before the 23rd day of March next.
