the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the District
of Taranaki, to be the person to receive the Crown
grants in pursuance of the provisions of "The New
Plymouth Exchanges Completion Act, 1874."

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant leases for gold-mining purposes
of Crown lands to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.
Objections to granting such leases, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and
lodged with the Warden at Reefton, on or before the
dates set opposite the respective applicants' names
in the said Schedule.
Copy of the application made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Reefton.
SCHEDULE.
JOHN CORNERFORD. Style under which it is intended
to conduct the business: "The Bright Smile Gold-
Mining Company (Limited)." 16½ acres, in the Nelson
South-West Mining District. 19th February, 1878.
George Wise. Style under which it is intended
to conduct the business: "The Rise and Sluice
Quartz-Mining Company." 16½ acres, in the Nelson
South-West Mining District. 26th February, 1878.
