be cross-examined by or on behalf of such opposite
party orally, and after such cross-examination may
be re-examined orally by or on behalf of the party
by whom such affidavit was filed.

The monthly return by the District Land
Registrars and Registrars of Deeds under section 43
of the said Act shall be in the form (No. 7) in the
Schedule L hereto. -
The form of notice and acknowledgment for-
warded under section 44 of the said Act shall be that
in the Schedule M hereto. -
The form of public notice to be given under
section 45 of the said Act shall be that in the Sche-
dule N hereto. -
Before any land is sold under sections 57 and
58 of the said Act for arrears of land-tax, a notice,
in the form in the Schedule O hereto, shall be given
to the owner thereof, as appearing on the Land-Tax
Register, personally, or sent by messenger or post
to his last known place of business or abode. If
such owner is absent from the colony the notice may
be sent to his agent. If such person is not known,
and has no known agent in the colony, the notice
shall be published in some newspaper circulating in
the county or borough in which the land is situated. -
When any sale is made for arrears of land-tax
under section 58 of the said Act, the form of transfer
to the purchaser shall be that in Schedule P hereto. -
The form of notice of lien under section 59 of
the said Act shall be that in the Schedule Q hereto. -
The several forms set forth in Schedule R
hereto are hereby prescribed as forms (Nos. 1, 2, 4,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) to be used to give effect to the
said Act.

. Every person interested may inspect such list
and take copies thereof at all reasonable hours in the day time
during a period of
days, from the
. Any person
who considers himself aggrieved by reason of the unfairness or
incorrectness of any valuation, or by the insertion or incorrect-
ness of any matter therein, may, either by himself or his agent,
object as by the Act is provided. All objections must be in
writing under the hand of the objector or his agent and in the
prescribed form, and delivered or posted to me at my office at
before the 15th day of March next.
Notice must be given of claims for exemption from land-tax,
and every such notice must be included in a notice of objection
to the valuation; and in such notice the claimant shall state
the particulars of the property or properties in respect of which
such exemption is claimed, and the district in which he desires
that such exemption shall take effect.
If two or more claims for exemption relating to the same
land be put in, the same shall be treated as one such claim.
Any person knowingly and wilfully making a false claim for
exemption from land-tax is declared by the said Act to be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanour.
Forms of "Objections and Claims for Exemption" can be
had on application to me.
