NOTICE has been received from the Inspector of
Sheep for the East Coast District that he has
granted a clean certificate to
Mr. Edwin Meredith, Riversdale, for a flock of 700
wethers; dated 24th October, 1878; and
Cancelled the clean certificate of Mr. John Stilborn,
Burton Field, for a flock of 250 mixed sheep;
dated 28th October, 1878.

NOTICE has been received from the Inspector of
Sheep for the East Coast District that he has
cancelled the clean certificate of
Messrs. R. and F. Maunsell, of Tinui, flock
of 2,000 ewes and lambs, dated the 1st
instant.

Lost Land Orders.----Commissioner's Report No. 20.
I. DAVID LEWIS, a Commissioner duly appointed
by virtue of an Act of the General Assembly of
New Zealand, intituled "The Lost Land Order Act,
1861," to hear and decide claims for Crown grants
of land for which the original land orders have been
lost or destroyed, report that the claim of John
Montefiore and William Law Montefiore, of London
and Charmouth, County of Dorset, in England,
Executors under the Will of John Montefiore the
Elder, having been referred to me by command of
the Governor, I do hereby decide that the said John
Montefiore and William Law Montefiore are entitled
to receive the Crown grant for Section No. 372, in
the City of Wellington, and Government scrip under
the provisions of "*The Manawatu Land Orders Act,
1877," in satisfaction of Land Order No. 327, now
declared to be lost.
Dated at Wellington, the 31st day of October,
1878.

Notice of Surrender and Cancellation of Gold-Mining
Leases issued under "The Gold Fields Act, 1866."
I T is hereby notified that the surrender of the gold-
mining leases, issued under "The Gold Fields
Act, 1866," specified in the Schedule hereto have,
with the approval of the Otago Land Board, been
accepted and the leases cancelled; and that the
lands referred to therein are now open for applica-
tion under the Gold-Mining Leases Regulations.
