THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

  1. If any person shall be guilty of any wilful
    offence or misfeasance, or wilful or negligent act of
    commission or omission, contrary to any provision
    contained in the foregoing by-laws, he shall forfeit
    a sum not exceeding five pounds.

The foregoing regulations and by-laws were duly
made and ordained at a meeting of the Waitaki Road
Board, held on the thirtieth day of August, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

Returning Officers for County Council Elections
appointed.

to be the Returning Officer to conduct the election

County of Geraldine, vice T. O. Rayner, resigned;

to be the Returning Officer to conduct the election
of County Councillors for the Portobello Riding of
the County of Peninsula, vice Thomas Tilley, re-
signed.

Change in Name of Ohaupo Cemetery.

the name of the cemetery lately called the Ohaupo
Cemetery (the boundaries whereof are described on
page 1230, New Zealand Gazette, 1878,) be changed
to that of the Paterangi Cemetery.

SIR,—In compliance with Circular No. 12, of May
1st, 1876, I have the honor to report that no infor-
mation of the supposed existence of disease within
the Nelson South District has been received by me.
A return, "Nil," of the inspection of cattle for the
preceding six months ending on the 30th September
last is forwarded herewith.
