Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations
made under that Act for the granting of leases for
gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is
intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.
Objections to granting such lease, stating the
grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and
lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before
the 15th day of November, 1878.

SCHEDULE.

Notice of Cancellation of a Gold-Mining Lease.

IT is hereby notified that the surrender of the gold-
mining lease specified in the Schedule hereto
has, this day, with the approval of the Otago Land
Board, been accepted, and the lease cancelled; and
that the land referred to therein is now open for
application under the Gold-Mining Leases Regula-
tions.

Block II., Skipper's Creek, containing 2 acres.

Notice of Cancellation of an Agricultural Lease
Certificate.

IT is hereby notified that the surrender of the
agricultural lease certificate specified in the
Schedule hereto has, this day, with the approval of
the Otago Land Board, been accepted, and the certi-
ficate cancelled; and that the land referred to therein
is now open for application under the Agricultural
Leases Regulations.

Nelson South-West Gold Fields—Gold-mining Lease
refused.

NOTICE is hereby given that the gold-mining
lease applied for by G. Moore, W. G. Collings,
and others, for "The Phoenix Company"---namely,
10 acres, Darkie's Terrace, Charleston---has been
refused; and the ground is now open to persons
holding miners' rights or business licenses, as if a
lease of the said ground had not been applied for.

Sheep for the Wanganui District that he has
granted a clean certificate to Mr. William Burr, No.
2 Line, for a flock of 600 sheep; dated the 11th
instant.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in
the Waste Lands Board by "The Land Act,
1877," and "The Crown Lands Sale Act, 1877," it is
hereby notified that the rural lands mentioned in the
Schedule hereunder will be offered for sale by public
auction, at the Crown Lands Office, Auckland, by the
Commissioner of Crown Lands, on Monday, the 18th
day of November, 1878, at the hour of 11 o'clock in
the forenoon.
