THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

PATENT FOR THE USER OF THE VARIOUS SPECIES
OF NEW ZEALAND FERN FOR THE PURPOSE
OF EXTRACTION OF TANNIN.

THIS is to notify that CHARLES BROWN, of New
Plymouth, in the Colony of New Zealand,
Native Civil Commissioner, did, on the fourth day of
October, deposit at the office of the Patent Officer,
in the Colonial Secretary's Office, in Wellington, a
specification or instrument in writing under his hand
and seal, particularly describing and ascertaining the
nature of the said Invention, and in what manner
the same is to be performed; and that by reason of
such deposit the said Invention is protected and
secured to him exclusively for the term of six calen-
dar months thence next ensuing.

And I do further notify that the said Charles
Brown has given notice in writing at my office of his
intention to proceed with his application for Letters
Patent for the said Invention, and that I have ap-
pointed Friday, the twenty-second day of March
next, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, at my office,
to hear and consider the said application and all
objections thereto; and I do hereby require all per-
sons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the
eighteenth day of March next, at my office, in
Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be pre-
cluded from urging the same.

Given under my hand this twentieth day of No-
vember, 1877.

WILLIAM GOODALL, DECEASED.

NOTICE TO CREDITORS.

NOTICE is hereby given to all creditors and other
persons having claims against the Estate of
WILLIAM GOODALL, late of Wellington, in the
Colony of New Zealand, and formerly of Cape Town,
in Cape Colony, to send in writing the particulars of
their claims to the undersigned HENRY SAMUEL FITZ-
HERBERT, the solicitor of HENRY WILLIAM DIVER,
the Executor of the Will of the said William Goodall,
deceased, at the office of Barton and Fitzherbert,
Brandon Street, Wellington, before the 1st day of
March, 1878. And notice is hereby further given,
that after that date the said Henry William Diver
will distribute the assets of the said William Goodall
amongst such creditors and other parties entitled
thereto of whose claims the said Henry William
Diver shall then have notice.

that the Office of the Queen of Beauty Ex-
tended Gold Mining Company (Limited) is situated
at Albert and Davy Streets, Grahamstown, Thames;
and that Mr. DENNIS GILMORE MACDONNELL has
been appointed Manager to the Company.

ASHBURTON COAL MINING COMPANY (LIMITED)

THE last Meeting having lapsed through want of
sufficient shareholders attending to carry out
the business, another General Meeting of the above
Company, to consider a Special Resolution, "That
the Ashburton Coal Mining Company (Limited) be
voluntarily wound up," is called to take place at
Mr. John Hood's Hotel, Mount Somers, at 7 p.m. on
Tuesday, 4th December, 1877.

WAIKOUAITI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Waikouaiti
Road Board purpose taking Land for a Public
Road, under clauses 21, 22, 23, 24, &c., "Public
Works Act, 1876." The surveys and plans are now
deposited at my house, Clevedon (within this dis-
trict), and are open to inspection by all persons at
all reasonable hours. The road as surveyed passes
through Section 41, Block II., Waikouaiti District.

Any person or persons affected are hereby required
to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections
to the execution of such works or taking of such
lands, and to send such writing, within forty days
from the date of first appearing of this notice, to
the Chairman and Members of the Waikouaiti Road
Board, Merton Post Office; and the Board will ap-
point a time and place to hear such objections as the
objector thinks fit.

NOTICE.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership
heretofore subsisting between the undersigned,
as Hotelkeepers at Waipukurau, in the Provincial
District of Hawke's Bay, in the Colony of New Zea-
land, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent.
The business will in future be carried on by the
undersigned PETER Gow alone, to whom all debts
due to the said firm must be paid, and by whom all
liabilities of the said firm will be discharged.
