Proclamation constituting Borough of Milton
Validated.
NORMANBY, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of November, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twelve of "The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876," it is, amongst other
things enacted, that in any case in which by any
accident anything is irregularly done in matter of
form, the Governor may, by Order in Council
gazetted and publicly notified, validate anything so
irregularly done in matter of form, so that the true
intent and purpose of the said Act might have effect:
And whereas by a Proclamation dated the twenty-
fourth day of October, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-seven, published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 89, page 1042, the Town of Milton was
proclaimed a borough under "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1876," by the name of the Borough
of Milton: And whereas by accident the boundaries
of the said borough, as in such Proclamation specified,
do not include the area set forth in the Schedule to
"The Milton Municipality Extension Act, 1876":
And whereas a Proclamation of even date herewith,
purporting to be made under the authority of the
said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," has been
issued immediately before this Order in Council pro-
claiming the said Town of Milton to be a borough
under that Act as from the twenty-fourth day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
seven, by the name of the Borough of Milton: And
in such Proclamation the boundaries of the said
borough have been properly defined, so as to include
the area so accidentally omitted from the first-men-
tioned Proclamation: And whereas it is expedient
to validate the said Proclamations:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, and in
exercise and pursuance of the power and authority
vested in him by the said "Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876," doth hereby validate the said Pro-
clamations, and doth hereby declare that the same
shall have the same force and effect as such first-
mentioned Proclamation would have if the boundaries
therein specified included the area so accidentally
omitted therefrom.

Extension of Time for Election of Mayor of the
Borough of Sydenham.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of November, 1877.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section ten of "The Regulation of
Local Elections Act, 1876," it is enacted that
the local body shall appoint a Returning Officer, and
that not less than fourteen clear days before any elec-
tion to fill an ordinary vacancy the Returning Officer
shall give public notice thereof, and shall in such
notice appoint a place within the district, and a day
not less than five nor more than ten days after such
publication, for the nomination of candidates: And
whereas by section three of "The Municipal Corpo-
rations Act, 1876," "The Regulation of Local Elec-
tions Act, 1876," is declared to be incorporated with
and to be read as part of that Act: And whereas
by section twelve of "The Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
the Governor may, by Order in Council, gazetted and
publicly notified, extend the time within which any-
thing is required to be done, so that the true intent
and purpose of the said "Municipal Corporations
Act, 1876," may have effect: And whereas by the
said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," it is pro-
vided that the burgesses of every borough shall, on
