Proclaiming North-East Valley a Borough under "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of "The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1876," the Governor
is empowered by Proclamation to declare any district
in New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act
from and after a day to be named in such Proclama-
tion:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do
hereby proclaim and declare that that portion of
the district of North-East Valley described in the
Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby con-
stituted, as from the twenty-fifth day of October,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven,
a borough under the said Act; and that the
name of such borough shall be the Borough of
North-East Valley, and the boundaries of such
borough shall be those specified in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, in
the Colony of New Zealand, bounded towards the
North-west by a line commencing at a point twenty-
five (25) links distant from the north-eastern corner
and in a direct line with the north-eastern boundary
of Section numbered sixty-eight (68), Block eleven
(XI.), North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District,
and running along the centre of a road between said
Block eleven (XI.) and Block eight (VIII.), North
Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, seventeen
thousand one hundred (17100) links; thence towards
the South-west by a road line twenty-five (25) links;
thence again towards the North-west by Section
numbered fifty-one (51), Block eight (VIII.), North
Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, one thousand
five hundred and twenty (1520) links; thence to-
wards the North-east by Section numbered sixty-two
(62), said Block eight (VIII.), North Harbour and
Blueskin Survey District, three thousand one hun-
dred and thirty (3130) links; thence again towards
the North-west by said Section numbered sixty-two
(62), one thousand seven hundred and thirty-two
(1732) links; thence again towards the North-east
by Section numbered forty-eight (48), Block eight
(VIII.), North Harbour and Blueskin Survey Dis-
trict, one thousand nine hundred and forty-four
(1944) links; thence again towards the North-west
by said Section numbered forty-eight (48), seven
hundred and seven (707) links; thence again
towards the North-east by said Section num-
bered forty-eight (48) and Section numbered
forty-two (42), Block seven (VII.), North Har-
bour and Blueskin Survey District, three thousand
five hundred and seventy (3570) links; thence
towards the South-east by a road line, two hun-
dred (200) links; thence again towards the North-
east by a road line and Section numbered eighty-
five (85), North-East Valley District, one thousand
five hundred and fifty (1550) links; thence again
towards the South-east by a road line, three hundred
(300) links; thence again towards the North-east
by a road line and Section numbered eighty-four
(84), North-East Valley District, two thousand and
ten (2010) links; also by a production of the south-
western boundary line of said Section numbered
eighty-four (84), through Section numbered thirty-
three (33), Block nine (IX.), North Harbour and
Blueskin Survey District, two thousand four hun-
dred (2400) links; thence again towards the South-
east by Section numbered two of four (2 of 4),
Block nine (IX.), North Harbour and Blueskin
Survey District, eight hundred and five (805) links;
thence again towards the North-east by said Section
numbered two of four (2 of 4), one thousand four
hundred and four (1404) links; thence again towards
the South-east by a right line to Trig. Station
E, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District,
twelve thousand three hundred and eighty (12380)
links, and by another right line from said Trig.
Station E to a point on the northern boundary
of Section numbered fifty-two (52), Block nine
(IX.), North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District,
twelve thousand two hundred and fifty (12250)
