Arrowtown has been duly carried by the ratepayers
of the said borough at a poll taken under the provi-
sions of sections 142 and 143 of Part X. of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and on the 4th
day of September, 1877, viz.,-
- That a water supply be provided for the
Borough of Arrowtown. - That the sum of £4,000 be borrowed for the
space of forty years for that purpose. - That the general rates, rents, and licenses of
this borough, and a special water rate to be
levied of not more than 1s. in the £, be
pledged as a security for the repayment of this
loan and interest thereon; such interest not
to exceed 7 per centum per annum.

Wellington, 17th October, 1877.
N° eligible tender having been received for the
performance of a Twice-weekly Service between
Masterton and Woodville, for which tenders were
invited in the New Zealand Gazette of the 6th ultimo,
it is hereby notified that fresh tenders for the service
in question will be received at this office until Wed-
nesday the 31st instant. For terms and conditions
of tender see the Gazette notice above referred to.
Tenders to be addressed to the Postmaster-General.

- That the said loan be raised by eighty de-
bentures at £50 each, bearing interest at the
rate of not more than 7 per centum per
annum; the sum of £100, or two debentures,
to be paid off annually, thus liquidating the
whole debt at the end of the said term of forty
years.
There were for the proposal 17 votes.
There were against the proposal 14 votes.
I, therefore, in accordance with the powers vested
in me by the 144th section of Part X. of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," declare the reso-
lution for the above proposed loan carried.

of the Board of Wardens in the Provincial District
of Otago, under the Depasturing Regulations of the
23rd of June, 1868, for the district set against the
name of each of them respectively :-

HILL THOMPKINS, of Christchurch,
Publican, claiming as Devisee of the real estate of
WILLIAM PRISTON, late of Christchurch, Publican,
deceased, has applied to be registered as proprietor
of Section 157, in the Town of Ashburton; and that
he will be so registered unless caveat forbidding the
same be lodged within one month after the date of
the Gazette containing this notice.
