Setting apart Lands in Otago for Agricultural Leases.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the thirty-third section of "The
Gold Fields Act, 1866," it is, amongst other
things, enacted that it shall be lawful for the Gover-
nor to cause Crown lands situate within a gold field
to be selected and set apart for the purpose of
granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are Crown lands subject to be dealt with
under the provisions of the said thirty-third section
of "The Gold Fields Act, 1866," and it is deemed
expedient to set the same apart for the purpose of
granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor:

Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby select and set apart, for the
purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and
therefor, the lands described in the Schedule hereto,
and do fix the first day of November next ensuing
as the day on which the said land shall be open for
application.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement two thousand four
hundred and seventy (2,470) acres two (2) roods
and nineteen (19) poles, more or less, situate in the
Lower Wanaka District, being Sections numbered
respectively from 1 to 36 and 38 to 56 inclusive,
Block I., on the map of the said district, a portion
of Run numbered 240A. Bounded by a line commenc-
ing on the eastern bank of the Cardrona River, at a
point 11485 links North and 5350 links West of Geo-
desical Station, Mount Barker, and proceeding due
East eight thousand four hundred and fifty (8450)
links; thence due South sixteen thousand three hun-
dred and ninety-four (16394) links; thence due West
four thousand one hundred and fifty-nine (4159) links;
thence in a west-south-westerly direction by a line
bearing 74ยฐ 9' nineteen thousand and forty-two
(19042) links; thence in a north-north-westerly direc-
tion on a line bearing 344ยฐ 9' one thousand nine hun-
dred and forty-nine (1949) links, to the Cardrona

River; thence in a north-easterly direction by the
eastern bank of the Cardrona River, twenty-six thou-
sand (26000) links to the starting point.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-
stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies,
and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
ninth day of October, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.

Reservation of Land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury.

NORMANBY, Governor.

IN pursuance of the power and authority in me
vested in this behalf by the Canterbury Land
Regulations, and "The Waste Lands Administra-
tion Act, 1876," I hereby reserve the land in the
Provincial District of Canterbury, the boundaries
whereof are described in the Schedule hereunto
annexed, and for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five (5) acres,
more or less, being Section numbered two thousand
