Notice of Intention to construct portion of Road
between Bowen and Okarito.

NOTICE is hereby given, that it is proposed under
the provisions of "The Public Works Act,
1876," to execute a certain public work—to wit, the
construction of a portion of a road lying between
Bowen and Okarito, in the County of Westland,
and for the purposes of such public work the lands
described in the Schedule hereto are required to
be taken.

And notice is further given, that the plans of the
said portion of a road, and of the lands so required
to be taken, are deposited in the Okarito Road Dis-
trict Office, and are there open for inspection.

And notice is hereby given, that all persons
affected by the execution of the said public work,
or by the taking of the said lands, shall, if they have
any well-grounded objections to the execution of the
said public work, or to the taking of such lands, set
forth the same in writing, and send such writing,
within forty days from the first publication of
this notice, to the Minister for Public Works,
Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
SOUTH END—SECTIONS 5 AND 6.

COMMENCING at the terminating point of Section
No. 4, as described in Proclamation dated the 27th
October, 1874; proceeding thence in a generally
north-easterly direction to the commencing point
of Section No. 6 for a distance of 70 chains, 72
chains, and 21 chains respectively; thence from
commencing point of Section No. 6, in a generally
north-easterly direction, for a distance of 19 chains;
thence in an easterly direction for a distance of 201
chains; thence in a south-easterly direction for
a distance of 14 chains to a point on the West
Bank of the Watoroa River, which said point is
indicated by a peg driven into the ground, and
marked 1266. The total length of the above de-
scribed portion being 4 miles 77 chains, or there-
abouts, and the breadth thereof 1 chain; the said
road being delineated in red upon the plan, which
is marked for reference P.W.D., 5864.
