Boundaries over which Sheep may be taken under
"The Canterbury Sheep Ordinance 1872 Amend-
ment Ordinance, 1874."

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Canter-
bury Sheep Ordinance 1872 Amendment
Ordinance, 1874," it is enacted, that it shall be
lawful for the Superintendent from time to time, by
Proclamation to be published in the Provincial
Government Gazette, to appoint one or more place
or places at or adjacent to the inland boundaries of
the province, at some one or other of which places
all sheep to be introduced by land into the province
shall be crossed over such boundaries, and no sheep
shall be introduced by land into the said province
unless at some one of such places; and any person
crossing sheep over any such boundary as aforesaid
at any other place than one which shall have been
proclaimed as aforesaid, shall be liable to a penalty
of one hundred pounds:
And whereas by virtue of "The Abolition of
Provinces Act, 1875," the powers by the said Ordi-
nance vested in the Superintendent are now vested
in, and are to be exercised and performed by, the
Governor:
And whereas by "The Diseased Sheep Act, 1876,"
it is enacted that the said Ordinance, amongst other
Ordinances, shall, as amended by the Act now under
recital, apply to that portion of the colony which is
comprised within the boundaries mentioned in the
First Schedule to such Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the
power and authority conferred upon me by the above
recited Ordinance and Acts respectively, do hereby
appoint the under-mentioned places be places
one or other of which all sheep to be introduced by
land into the district comprised within the boundaries
mentioned in the First Schedule of "The Diseased
Sheep Act, 1876," shall be crossed over such bound-
aries, viz.,-
The Bridge of the Waiau-ua known as the
Leslie Hills Bridge; and
The Ford over the Waiau-ua opposite the Town-
ship of Waiau.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Most Honorable George Augustus Con-stantine, Marquis of Normanby, Earl of
Mulgrave, Viscount Normanby, and
Baron Mulgrave of Mulgrave, all in the
County of York, in the Peerage of the
United Kingdom; and Baron Mulgrave
of New Ross, in the County of Wexford,
in the Peerage of Ireland; a Member of
Her Majesty's Most Honorable Privy
Council; Knight Commander of the Most
Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George; Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony
of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and
Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued
under the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of January, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-seven.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twelfth day of January, 1877.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The New Zealand Post Office
Act, 1858," it is, among other things, enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council
from time to time to make rules and regulations for
the imposition of fees for private boxes and deliveries
at the several post offices of the colony: And
whereas by an Order in Council, dated the twenty-
ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-four, the Governor in Council, in pur-
suance of the said recited power and authority, pre-
scribed and imposed certain fees to be paid in respect
of private boxes at the several post offices of the
colony, and it is expedient to impose other fees in
respect of such private boxes:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
said recited power and authority, and by and with
the consent of the Executive Council of the Colony,
doth hereby revoke so much of the said Regulations
as relates to the fees payable in respect of private
