to be Chief Surveyor of the Provincial District of
Hawke's Bay, in the Department of the Surveyor-
General, vice Chas. Weber, Esq., resigned.

Application for Registration of Trade Mark.
NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. TRAVERS
and OLLIVIER, Solicitors, of Wellington, have
applied on behalf of W. G. RUNCE and Co., of Hoki-
tika, in the Colony of New Zealand, proprietors of
"The Westland Steam Coffee Mills," to amend the
description of a trade mark which was published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the 25th May, 1877,
under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866."
The following is the description of Trade Mark as
amended.
The words "The Westland Steam Coffee Mills,
established 1865;" under which is a foul anchor en-
closed within a circle lying within two intersecting
equilateral triangles, having the letters W and G
placed in the angles at the top on the left and right
hand respectively, and the letters R. and & Co.
placed in the angles at the bottom on the left and
right hand respectively, and the letter H. placed in
the centre angle at the bottom of the inverted tri-
angle; and having the words "trade mark" written
within the said circle on either side of the anchor.
Nature of the Article to which it is proposed such
Trade Mark shall apply.
