SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section numbered 1647 (in red), situated in the Town of Waimate, having 10 chains frontage to the south-eastern side of Queen Street, and extending south-easterly 10 chains in a rectangular block; the north-west corner of the above described land is situated at the angle of the street about 17 chains south-west of the westernmost corner of Reserve No. 1582 (in red).

Amended Regulations as to Leases in Township of Ross.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of May, 1877.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by “The Gold Fields Act, 1874,” it is enacted, that notwithstanding anything contained in “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, under regulations to be made in that behalf from time to time, to grant to any occupant of land under business license in the Township of Ross, in the Province of Westland, who has improved such land to the satisfaction of the Warden of the district, a lease, for any term not exceeding twenty-one years, of the surface of such land, at such rates of payment for rent, and under such restrictions as to the use thereof, as he may think necessary; and such lease shall entitle the holder thereof to all the rights and privileges now enjoyed by holders of business licenses:
And whereas by virtue of the aforesaid enactment His Excellency the Governor, by Order in Council, on the fifth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five, did prescribe certain Regulations under which leases might be granted to occupants of land under business licenses in the Township of Ross, in the Provincial District of Westland, who had improved such land to the satisfaction of the Warden of the district, and by the ninth of the aforesaid Regulations the annual rental for each section was fixed at the sum of twenty shillings per annum, payable in advance:
And whereas it is expedient to reduce the amount of such annual rental for each section, and for that purpose it is requisite that the aforesaid ninth Regulation should be revoked, and a fresh Regulation should be made in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the colony, revoke the aforesaid ninth Regulation annexed to the hereinbefore recited Order in Council of the fifth day of January, 1875, and in lieu and instead of the same doth hereby make the Regulation set forth hereunder:—
REGULATION.
The annual rental for each section shall be the sum of ten shillings per annum, payable in advance.

Appointment of Resident Magistrates’ Courts for Ridings in the Counties of Vincent and Lake, pursuant to 47th Section of “The Counties Act, 1876.”
NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the forty-seventh section of “The Counties Act, 1876,” I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the Resident Magistrates’ Courts named in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be the Resident Magistrates’ Courts for the ridings in the Vincent and Lake Counties named in and set opposite to such Courts respectively in the second column of the said Schedule, to which any person who considers himself aggrieved by his own name or that of any other person being entered on or omitted from the roll of such ridings respectively, or by the number of votes allotted to him or to any other person thereon being more or fewer than that to which he or such other person is entitled under the said Act, may apply for relief.

NORMANBY, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by an Ordinance of the Province of Otago intituled “The Impounding Ordinance, 1872,” and by “The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,” I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the place described in the Schedule hereto to be a Public Pound under the said Ordinance; and do further appoint Mr. JOHN GRAY, of Oamaru, in the Provincial District of Otago, to be the Keeper of such pound.
