Altering Boundaries of Resident Magistrates' Dis-
tricts of Nelson South-West Gold Fields and
Greymouth.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Resident Magistrates' Act,
1867," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for
the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in
the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout
the colony, or in any part thereof, districts to be
called Resident Magistrates' Districts, and such
districts from time to time to abolish, and the
boundaries to define and alter, and in any such
Proclamation to fix a time on and from which any
such district shall be constituted or abolished, as
the case may be: And whereas by Proclamations
bearing date the twenty-first day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, and the
fourth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-nine, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested
in him, did proclaim and constitute the Districts of
Nelson South-West Gold Fields and Greymouth, as
described in the said Proclamations respectively, to
be Resident Magistrates' Districts within the meaning
and for the purposes of the said Act:
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries
of the said districts so constituted as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine,
Marquis of Normanby, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities so vested in me as aforesaid, do
hereby alter the boundaries of the said Districts of
Nelson South-West Gold Fields and Greymouth, as
described in the Schedule hereto, as and from the
first day of May next.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON SOUTH-WEST GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT.
THIS district is bounded towards the North by the
southern boundary of the Collingwood District, de-
fined in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 69, dated 21st
December, 1867; towards the South-east and East
by the Nelson District, defined in the New Zealand
Gazette before mentioned, to the south-western angle
thereof, and by the summit of the watershed of the
north-eastern and south-eastern sources of the Grey
River to the saddle between the Hurunui and Tere-
makau Rivers; towards the South-west by a right
line to the junction of the Arnold River with Lake
Brunner, thence by the Arnold River to its conflu-
ence with the Grey River, thence along the Paparoa
Ranges to the watershed between the Punakaiko and
Pororari Rivers, thence along the summit of that
watershed to the ocean at the southern headland of
the last-mentioned river; and towards the West by
the ocean to the mouth of the Mackay River, the
commencing point.
GREYMOUTH DISTRICT
Is bounded on the North and East by the Nelson
South-West Gold Fields District, hereinbefore de-
scribed, to the saddle between the Hurunui and Tere-
makau Rivers; thence towards the South by the said
ERRATUM. In the New Zealand Gazette, No. 20, of the 1st March instant, p. 247, in description of Trade Marks, No. 3, for
"J D K + Z," read "J D K & Z."
